Thinking of trading in because of install times is a bit of a poor reason imo.

If you have other reasons, then fair enough, but that doesn't appear to be a big enough reason to me.

Microsoft will likely get install times sped up with an update at some point. It is poor though, shouldn't have to wait that long to get into a game, poor by any console standard.

Xbox One games are good though, control pad is awesome as well.

Get PS4 and Xbox One imho, enjoy them both

wasn't you the one asking which console to buy , as I remember you being told at the time x1 install times being pretty horrendous and a ps4 is a pure games console with no multi task stuff in the background...

you made your choices at the time, so why would you listen this time around, I personally after using an x1 find it slow and cumbersome however this is imo. And now you also find the install times slow, which I agree with..

you can't find out what anything is like based on someone's opinion.. until you see it first hand, however it'll cost you money to trade it, and it'll cost you money to not trade and buy a ps4 to go along side it sadly.. either way, sounds like you made the wrong choice and now it's all down to money and considering your missus isn't keen on you owning both, I think you should just hold out for now and see what happens next year...

I can't really remember if I did ask on here seeing those answers.

I just install FH2 Jesus took ages but this oky thing driving me mad. But on other side. If I trade in I can get a ps4 with 4 games for £40 after trade. So that is tempting.

What you guys think of the ps4 dashboard can I come out of game and back in where I left it on ps4 if not powering down the console. As read somewhere if I double press the ps button it does this?

I got the forza 5 download with my one and it's still going from Saturday.

You can go into the dash without closing you game on a ps4 no problems... if you power down though you'll close the game and need to restart the game, suspend game when system suspends on ps4 is still not in the firmware.. something Sony are working on...

trade up with 4 games costing only 40 quid seems a good deal, I'd say if you really want to do it. at that price do it.. that's just the cost of a angle game, however surprised it's only 40 quid, where is that from ?

Yes. You can press the PS button and you go back to the dash and do other things. Then you can press again (or double press) to go back to the game. Or just select the game and you go back to where you were. Basically multi tasking like your XB1.

The only game changers (for you) seem to be faster loading times and better graphics for which PS4 is currently ahead in both. BUT, be certain otherwise you will end up swapping again!!

I dunno, I don't own a crystal ball!! Its hard enough asking people if you should trade based on information available today, without trying to guess what 2015 holds!!!

Ask an XB1 fan they will say it will be the year all the best games come out.
Ask a PS4 fan they will say it will be the year all the best games come out.

BUT, if you keep the XB1 your wallet will be better off. swapping consoles is not cheap

Rooky! What I'd like to know is have you had a chance to play Forza Horizon 2 yet? Ah what about the controller on the X1? How do you find that? Which controller did you prefer last-gen? Have you had a chance to mess about with a PS4?

Yes I have. Quite a good game but still hard to know whether stick or move since it costing little money. It took 35 mins install

I gather that the install times can be a little lengthy but you only need to install a game once. Is there anyway you could get your hands on a PS4? Perhaps go to a Game store even? Okay so you like the game that's a good thing at least.

I have a PS4, I have used a XB1 a bit. BUT it belongs to someone else, so the games were already installed whenever we used it, so can't comment on load times. Multi tasking felt quite similar to the Xbox 360, but again have not used this function a lot when visiting a friend and playing multiplayer games

Yes it seems you are getting a good deal to trade. My point was be certain, as you won't get such a good deal if you then want to swap again!

It is definitely faster, many people have commented on this forum about it. Not sure on a percentage, I believe it varies by game.

It would annoy me but not an issue if you just own the 1 console. All things being equal, if I owned both I would get multiplat games on PS4 if it meant they would load much faster. If you only own one console just get used to the slowness (I owned a PS3 for most of last gen, so know how it feels!!)

Have both, can't comment on install times as I'm pretty much exclusively digital. (Although did have Dead Rising 3 at launch and it took a fair while iirc)

Forza 5 and Horizon 2 are both well above DriveClub, although Forza 5 is very different, Horizon 2 is more comparable, but I'd rather have had either of those before DriveClub.

Still a decent game but you've got the better system for the moment imo.
