Hey Overclockers,

I have recently received my new monitor:

1 x Asus PB287Q 28" 4K 60Hz 1MS Gaming Widescreen LED Monitor - Black £399.95

I seem to be having problems setting up the resolution, When I configure the resolution to the max (3840 x 2160). I cannot select any higher than 30hz, only when I set the resolution to 2560 x 1440 do I have the option for 60hz I am unsure of why this is?

My set-up is:

1. Processor - Intel Sandybridge i5-2500K Unlocked Core i5 Quad-Core Processor (3.30GHz, 6MB Cache, Socket 1155)

2.Motherboard - AsRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 Motherboard, Socket 1155, PCI-Express 3.0, DDR3, USB 3.0, HDMI, 7.1 HD Audio, ASRock Instant Boot

3.Memory (RAM) - Corsair CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9B 16GB (4x4GB) 1600MHz CL9 DDR3 Vengeance Blu Memory Four Module Kit

4.Hard drive(s) - Samsung 120GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic
- Hitachi HDT721010SLA360 ATA Device (931 GB)

5.Graphics card(s) - Asus Radeon R9 290 "Voltage Unlocked" 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

6.Power supply (PSU) - Seasonic G series 750w '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply

7.Case - BitFenix Ghost Silent Tower Case - Black

8. Cooling - Corsair Hydro H110 280mm High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler.

Can anyone shed any light on this for me please? I'm somewhat of a novice.

Thanks.

I am using the DisplayPort. which is why I am confused I cannot achieve 60hz at full resolution.

possible that you need to change your dp to 1.2 version . should be on monitor menu. if version 1.1 it will only max at 4k 30hz

I am using Phillips 4k which default as 1.1 version too. after changed to 1.2 then i can select 60hz
