Lets assume you have £1000-2000 to redecorate the following room to not be so boring, what would you do?

I tried recreating my room on some website, here's the dimensions and such.

Here's what it actually looks like:

Yeah, it's a fairly small space, but this is where I sleep and spend the majority of my time.

Anything in this room can be changed, upgraded, etc etc.

Things I'd like to change:

Carpet (currently blue), walls (painted/posters/shelving?), TV is never turned on, so probably taken out. New chest of drawers? Desk area is also boring me. I'm wanting a new chair, keyboard, mouse mat, possibly a mounted monitor stand. Double bed if there's space (?). Wooden thing next to my desk in the corner that holds some clothes is also hideous and annoying.

I'm always envious of seeing other peoples battlestations and such. I want to re-create a room which is awesome.

Help me? :D

Move the shelving unit thing and install a pole.
hire loose women to dance around it whilst you stream computer games on twitch, throwing monopoly money at them any time you get a donation.

In all seriousness you could move the shelving unit and stick your pc there instead.

actually if the bed fits in that space I'd move the puter to near the window so you can get a tan during the summer

Fill in the recess where the shelving unit (hideous wooden thing!) is with some built-in wardrobes + shelves to maximise use of the space... possibly room for a laundry basket or receptacle in there as well?

How about a picture, or poster(s) on the walls?

Can you link me to the website please. I'm drawing up a similar thing, moving apartment in Feb and the website i used was gash... That looks better thanks !!!

I would use the space in the corner where the clothes rack is for a desk, perhaps one that is built in to the wall if the space is too small for a normal desk. Also, a double bed is a must if you are over the age of 14.

This is what I would do. Custom sized desk, perhaps mounting monitors for more space.

I was going to say wall mount the tv, but if it's not used loose it.

Double bed makes sense, if space is too tight consider a three quarter bed. An upgrade on a single at least.

I would then replace the drawers with a proper storage unit. Though these may be too big, i initially thought this could go where your desk was then realised it would limit your bed upgrade.

Haven't really thought about a custom desk in that corner, but it seems too confined, but if my desk goes in that corner, there's much more room for a double bed, side tables, etc.

I would have one of those big storage units that you can customise for your needs (likes of ikea etc) and would leave a nice space for the desk on the wall in the middle of the storage with maybe adding some storage on top of the desk if needed too and turn the bed around and change it to one of those tvbeds http://www.bedshed.co.uk/lincoln-faux-leather-tv-bed-frame?variantSku=373300002
always wanted one of those... Would be the best money ever spent in my opinion.
