Facebook is annoying

On 31st December, I unfollowed EVERYONE... ahh peace at last, just updates from the groups I'm interested in.

Hallelujah!!

I don't think you can delete your account, only deactivate it. E.g it'll still be there when you log in again and reactivate it.

What's so bad about it?

I use it as a all-in-one news service where I can scroll down for 10 or 20 minutes and find out the latest stuff happening in all my different interests, hobbies and what not. I'm guessing others do the same thing, how can that annoy people? If you see something you don't like, ignore it?

People and companies automatically assuming that you're on Facebook (or any other form of social media for that matter).

Case in point, I went for a job interview last year where the interviewer asked me for permission to view my Facebook page and when I informed him that I wasn't on there he as good as called me a liar and the interview was concluded in the next two minutes. I didn't get the job!

Me: Yes, I have a Facebook account. No, you can't view it.

Cheeky gits.

As other people have said, sounds like you dodged a bullet!

I'd be pretty unhappy at even being asked the question to be honest. Facebook has nothing to do with my professional life, and my profile is empty. Only use it for messaging the wife when she's in the UK.

I would never delete facebook, how else would I let everyone know im having a "Cheeky Nandos"

90% is drivel but it's a good way of keeping up to date with your teenagers and other family members and close friends. I don't understand why people just invite anyone regardless if known or not.

It's also a great for having a blog and for news feeds from PC sites, stores, footy info and photography. Photoplus is excellent for tips and ideas. I'd have is for that tbh and not have any contacts.
