Man, the supply of decent flight sticks is rubbish.

Could kick myself for not jumping on the purple shirt brigade prices the other day, as they all died up now and they are typically a fair bit pricier everywhere else that actually has some (specifically the x52/x52 pro) :(

There's an aspect of the game I don't understand, admittedly it may just be not working properly, but plotting a route via the Galaxy maps inbuilt routing system, especially for long distance, will say no route available but using https://cmdr.club/routes/, there is a route.

I've not fired a single shot since I started. I did get interdicted by a pirate once, but I was able to supercruise away before he could get off more than a few shots on me.

I have a Federal mission to perform a Black Ops hit. I'm kinda nervous about taking it though. Do you think my little hauler with its basic weapon, armour and shields will stand a chance?

The in game routing tool has a couple of issues

1) It doesnt route further than 100ly from your current point
2) It takes ages to plot routes to destinations.

If your target system is < 100ly, just wait in the screen it will plot it eventually. If its more than 100ly then you can either navigate manually or plot multiple routes one after another through the in game tool.

It badly needs an overhaul!

If you're after a named target, he'll probably turn up in an armed to the teeth Anaconda. You should abandon that mission and instead take a 'hunt 4 pirates' type of mission - but I still wouldn't recommend you do that in a hauler either.

Kit yourself out with a Viper (or an Eagle if you're short on cash) and use that for combat instead. Just make sure you have enough for the insurance incase the worst happens!

Just had a new backer email reminding me to check that my details are up to date so that I can get the Premium Boxed Edition, along with the T shirt.

The Federal mission is to take out a drop ship, easy in my Asp, but I wouldn't want to try it in a Hauler...

Patch 1.04 incoming

Hi everyone,

update 1.04 is incoming and everyone will be removed from the server at 2.30 pm GMT while we apply the update and make the new client available. Here is the change log for the update:

- If a station somehow loses it's parent then move it to another body so players at that station can load
- Prevent inconsistencies between client and server in which parts of a sector are and are not occupied
- Some fixes to meta-data that were being disguised by an issue with inconsistent generation
- When deciding if we should go hostile to a faction we just shot, consider whether the target has a local bounty rather than a bounty with their own faction. Prevent people being attacked by the police after attack nearby wanted targets
- Fix only the first consequence being applied to the universe state when completing a mission
- Set killer before we do ship death - fixes problem with players not getting bounties or reputation when they kill other players by breaking critical modules
- Reduce likelihood of server disconnects from stellar forge server queries
- Fix mouse control if galaxy map opened with key binding when in outfitting
- Updated exoplanets Kepler 438 b and 442 b
- Add produced by and consumbed by information to all trade goods (except rares)
- Telemetry added to try and figure out why some machines are failing to load resource files
- Remove the terraforming data for Pareco system causing an assert
- Fix packet loss statistics
- Use the correct absolute magnitude in bolometric luminosity calculations
- Various text fixes

There are some online changes as well which Andy will post in his update, but one change is worth mentioning here - there should be an improvement in matchmaking that should mean you are more likely to see other players if they are in the same region as you.

Edit: The downtime should be less than 30 minutes.

Thanks!

Michael

Hurrah! I was starting to get fed up of buggering away from nav beacon location when the local police decided to start shooting at me for no reason!

Yeah, I have a few friends who started playing the game - they got smashed up pretty badly by the police, after explicitly attacking wanted targets... Might make bounty hunting possible around federation/empire/alliance systems

Although, when bounty hunting I got annoyed by the police constantly scanning me so I started killing them for fun, whilst playing "THE BILL" theme tune on loop, ended up with a bounty of about 150k, but it was still funny as hell

I tried that mission once and got my head stoved in.

Not done any combat since!

My aim is to keep upgrading my Cobra for a bit, and then try to find some "easy" combat to start me off gently.

I bet all the joystick manufacturers are rubbing their hands with glee at the moment :p

You'd think, but it looks like they are dragging their feet getting stock supplied to people.

Come on be fair, this game did take them by surprise. There was no mention it was ever going to be released and all of a sudden it was available for people to buy last December..

Oh wait a sec....

The combat is almost as much to do with how to engage properly as it is about how well equipped your ship is, though having bigger guns is always a benefit :D
