How easy (in relative terms) is voice attack to configure without a elite voice pack?

Very easy. The voice pack is just a sound pack.

You can use the default windows voice - which is what I do.

I've exported my voice attack profile if you want it. Doesn't cover everything, but everything I've needed so far.

You'll need to make sure you have your ED controls mapped to the correct key, most are default but there are some that are different.

God jesus wept.... ;_;

Just thought "screw it, I've done nothing but combat, bounty hunting and PVP for a week, gunna do some serious trading again"

Traded my Python in for a Type-9, thought i'd get on the money train.

This thing is a PIG!

Can only afford about 280 tons of capacity atm, but will buy the 256 capacity cargo rack later hopefully, this is by far the hardest ship I've flown so far - highly unresponsive, terrible jump range (about 11LY with the top FSD *I think*) and it's pretty dicey going through the letterbox..

BUT

It's a serious hauler, worked out on my current route, if I can get about 550 tons of capacity, that will work out at around 1.6Mcr per round trip, (about 15 mins) so i'd like to get to around 6-8M an hour, will do some timed runs later..

Few vids I did, showing the docking and horrid flight model (I imagine it improves with upgrades, but it's not a cheap ship to run)

And a look around the inside, showing the cockpit and view (it feels like a flying football stadium)

It is quite badly worded, but I read it as meaning the original beta testers get free access to the beta of the 'wings' arrangements.

The final upgrade will be available for free for everyone (though that's just me reading between the lines).

That was also my interpretation

Hardly see wings as a DLC although all further DLC are extra cost, one of the advantages of paying for Premium beta was the early access and free lifetime DLC.

Sorry for just jumping in the thread guys, but is it worth me getting this game before my Thrustmaster Hotas arrives or just wait until it comes?

I'm a newbie to space sims btw ;)

Thanks!

Brought an Adder at some random port i found, seemed like a good upgrade over the default ship! also had a go at trading random commodities and made some profit! getting into this now!

didnt realise i could use my FSD at a certain point and have been flying long distances without it DOH!

:)

still dont know what i want to do as a main 'job' though!

with regards to insurance, where do i buy it or is it just an option when i get pwned?

Look at your "Rebuy Value" in your right hand panel.

Never leave port without that much cash in your pocket. That is your insurance payment.

Getting it before would allow you to see what controls you commonly use and ensure they are suitably placed on the HOTAS. Won't take long to learn it with a stick later.

Is there any place in particular to do the Naval progression missions or is it just random? I have got to midshipman but just can't seem to find any more naval progression missions :(

Cheers guys.

They're a massive pain, I ranked with the empire (but apparently the ranking system is the same for empire/fed)

Basically, all I did was continue to do missions for the empire only, and after a while a rank progression mission would appear, some people were mentioning on the forums that they'd get 2-3 at a time, others were taking a week to progress.... I had 2 pop up at once, then about 24 hours until I managed to get another..

Yes, get yourself a few credits built up whilst you get feel for the game.

I somehow have broken the number 5 button my HOTAS. :( Not a button I use regularly either.

Getting a replacement sent out.

How do you get these missions and I can't seem to get out of the unfriendly status

I'm around sol atm

Anyone else been getting random screen resolution changes with 1.04?

It's happened to me two or three times in the last couple of days. Suddenly I can only see part of the cockpit view, and, upon alt-tabbing out, even the launcher screen looks off-centre and wrong.

GTX 770 here on factory settings, Win 8.1.

Ok folks, just want to give you a description of my 2 hour Elite stint.

I decided to complete a bounty contract.

And ended up just scouting unidentified signals which took me AN AGE to finally find 7 pirates and kill.

For my troubles, I made something like 100k (bounties + the contract hand in of 10k)? Which is pitiful as I understand compared to what I could be making trading by the sounds of others here.

Am I doing something fundamentally wrong here?

I don't know, but I have heard other people asking the same question, some people were saying that it doesn't actually matter - and rankings were still occurring whether people were friendly/allied/whatever
