Been messing around with my Strava data today, came up with a map of the places I ran and rode in 2014 (around London at least), thought the result looked quite nice:

New post as new subject (and I'm lazy) :p

Cheap bar tape for my trainer, should I look at basic deda stuff or as it's for a trainer/sweat machine should I be looking at better cork/rubber? Comfort/feel kinda does matter over looks, not to mention I've only done some basic wrapping before - is a rubber type tape easier to get right/comfortable?!

Any good tips/guides on setting up handlebars/shifter angles/position? I've tried to replicate my road bike setup (basic bike fit to me) across to the turbo bike (previously adjusted by me as I used it multiple times) but I can't seem to get the shifter/hood position right and I'm experiencing some pain either on the 'inside of my thumb tendons back to my wrist' or the tendons from my index finger backwards.

Look at the Strava 'Heatmap', it does similar and colour codes them by how frequently you rode them! :)

I have that Deda tape. Good stuff. I found it fine to wrap. Or some of this: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/lifeline-essential-bar-tape/ It's even cheaper and has rubber underside instead of the sticky tape which you see on may other tapes. This means it can be removed and reapplied again and again if you mess up.

Also don't forget to buy extra electrical tape. You almost certainly will need it.

Always got plenty of that in a selection of colours! ;)

I actually carry some in my saddle bag as it can be a handy extra 'pair of hands' when refitting a tyre after a puncture (holding it to the rim) :D

Skaterskins amirite? :D ;)

Have 'few' extra pennies this month (now holiday is out the way - we actually came back with half of the spending money we took!) so I'm grabbing a few things I 'need' and half thinking about picking up an 810.

I've thought about a basic S&C for a while for when I'm on the trainer, but my S5 with IpBike seems to be the same as most of them as I have the Garmin GSC10 and Wahoo TICKR (HRM) already. Both are ANT+. So I looked and tried a couple of Bike mounts for the S5 and drew a blank/wasn't happy with any of them. Also why spend £80+ on a good mount when a cycling computer is 'not much more'!

I don't see the point of spending a decent amount of money (£150+) on a cycling computer unless it works with my existing (ANT+) sensors and has Navigation. -rules out the 200?
Sync with my S5 (for Strava & health apps) is almost a must, as is Wifi capability (for upload/updates). -rules out the 500?
I also don't see much point in trying out a 'cheaper' option (like the Cateye etc) when *everyone* has a Garmin. Plus a Garmin would be compatible with the VIRB I already have...

So is the 810 the best way to go? As I don't need the sensors (S&C nor HRM) is this one: £227 but out of stock the one I should be looking at? Would I need to purchase maps separately for it?

Need to get around to putting some better winter tyres on too... The (700x23)Pro4 Grip Service Course I wanted are only available in 23cm, do they do a 25cm or am I best going for (700x25)Pro4 Service Course? I have a set of part worn 700x23 normal Pro4 Endurance, should I just put them on instead? They are to replace my Giant P-R3's.

Dilemma! Thoughts? :)

Only just realised youre near me. Dont forget you've got cyclesuk and pedal revolution in Norwich too. Plenty of choice there. I havnt been to Evans yet but its on my list in the next couple of weeks. You may also like to try Howards cycles in Wymondham , small family run shop but they do have some nice stuff.

Yeah there are a few local places I should try when I'm in a position to buy. I have had a look in Cycles UK and they seem to have a few good deals and people that know one end of a bike from the other so I'd be pretty confident in them screwing it together properly. I've only been in Evans once and their customer service seemed to be on another level, I was impressed.

Can someone please spec me some winter riding clothes (road and mountain) for an overweight hot and sweaty person please?

I currently only own some fetching bib shorts and an altura night vision jacket that claims to be breathable, but either isn't at all, or just can't cope with my hot heftiness.
