Resident Evil Remake HD

It's one the greatest games ever made. I'm not even joking about that either.

I'll have to agree, it had some of the worst voice acting ever, you hated the ribbon save system but respected it enough to use them wisely... the door loading system got repetitive but this didn't take away from one heck of an awesome game..

I played the life out of resident evil , along with wipe out 2097 and tomb raider, ps1 greatness...

Went against my better judgement and bought this. Been downloading it since this morning but still have 5 hours to go. WTF is anyone else struggling with download speed ?

Should i risk deleting and starting again?

Edit - download was bugged I think. Only showing it as a 3.1GB download and stuck half way through. Deleted and restarted and now saying 52 mins to go. Not great but better than nothing :)

Hmmmm - just noticed the download started at 15+GB but has now dropped down to 3.1 again. Weird. Perhaps it's compressed?

Will see how it pans out :p

Started playing this last night. Put it on the most difficult setting available. I think I might have to drop it down a notch, haha.

I'm completely out of ammo, have 1 ink ribbon (there wasn't even any ink in the first "safe room") and it seems to be impossible to run past any zombies (I'm sure this use to be a lot easier).

I also have to use the dpad which uses "classic controls". It doesn't make sense to use the analogue stick which allows you to go any direction with a fixed camera because when it switches you have to adjust, that got me bitten a few times.

Still loving it though.

Played it last night too, it was proper nostalgia when I picked up a ink ribbon...I totally forgot this was the only means of saving (plus the typewriter of course)

Had a brief go on the PS3. Looks amazing and runs really smooth, got it on the PS3 as i'm a bit of a Trophy whore though.

If I ever get a PS4 guys, would I have to do the game again for all the trophies?

Played part of it last night too, forgot how good this game was.

Was confused I couldnt drop items till I came across the item drop box in a room. Then it came flooding back.

Quick question - how do you stomp on a zombies head?

In the original it only happened if they were on the floor and grabbed your leg. There was no "headstomp" button or anything like that.

Played for 10 mins last night. Controls are all wrong. Even classic mode does not seem to respond like it used to on the original, particularly when running and turning.

Killed the 1st zombie by Kenneth, got 4 bullets left :(

You used to be able to run around him but I couldn't manage it. Also I could have sworn the 1st typewriter used to be in the main hall of the mansion, not the dining room?

Graphics wise things are a little hit and miss, but it definitely looks nice. Would have been nice if they did a real overhaul on the menus and in game inventory screens etc though.

Managed to kill the 2nd Zombie in the room with the statue in it, but now I have nothing but a knife left!!

Also, I seem to remember that when you aimed in the original you shot at the head. In this you turn to the target and shoot the chest........

Anyways, will be interesting to see how it pans out. I have not played Resi1 since the Directors Cut.

I think I will also find this interesting because it based on the gamecube version, which I have to say I never played. I had Code Veronica and Zero on the GC, didnt even know Resi1 had been released on it, but I seem to remember I bought the GC off a mate quite late in it's life simply to play Code Veronica and Zero. Didn't buy any other games for it.

On the original I'm sure you pushed up when aiming to aim at the head, it looks like you aim is well off but you can head shot them. Its the same if they are on the floor, push down whilst aiming.

Yea you could but it takes way too many shots to kill zombies no matter where you aim so you're guaranteed to get bitten if you go for headshots (because they have to close). Head shots are more for the shotgun or magnum really.

I agree one of the greatest games ever made and started a genre.

Downloading now, must have played this about 300 times, but I still can't remember EVERYTHING I need to do.

Only thing I don't like is the door animations, when you are watching over an hour of doors opening up it does get repetitive.

The hint is not to kill the zombies, if you do and don't burn the bodies you get Crimson heads which are even worse to deal with.

Intro playing as I type... will this live up to my recent playthrough of Resi 4? Time will tell! :D

Oh, I noticed there are 3 difficulties in this game. I remember there being 2 in the GC version. Obviously picked the hardest.

Intro looks very dated now :D

Resident evil 4? It is a completely different game. :p

Ill get it, but i am not sure if ill have the patients for it anymore with how easy games are these days. Auto saves/check points and all that :p

Typical, absolutely smashed through most of the first part of the game and on the way to the basement crimson-head boss a zombie goes OMNOMNOMNOM round a corner on the way to the flaming save room... nooooooooo!

It's not so bad when you remember where to go and how to lure zombies into a dive... I remember finding it nigh on impossible first time around having played RE2 first (which is so much easier). I've decided however that life is made much easier if you spend a bit of time clearing zombies and getting the shotgun before pushing forwards with the dog whistle, because shortly afterwards zombies respawn / turn crimson if you're a noob.
