Rowan Atkinson prepares to sell his McLaren F1

When McLaren rebuilt it they stripped it back to a bare tub and from what I can make out almost everything was replaced during it's rebuild. Gotta say if I was looking for one I'd probably choose this one with it's crash history over a clean one :D

Same; it's all be done by McLaren and not some back street garage. Apart from collection cars with a few hundred miles on, it's probably the best example out there.

wow £8m!

It's not on the sellers site yet so can't check out the images.

I also still think this is the greatest car ever made, doubt that will change any time soon. Utterly epic machine that I'd love to just see with my own eyes, let alone ever get a chance to sit in!

This will sell without doubt, one of the best known F1's in the public domain with a verifiable history and a unique colour and interior.

Dunno if it was posted/linked here but I remember a thread somewhere with several work in progress pictures of the rebuild.

I'm sure McLaren owners don't take their cars to a back street garage for a quick oil change....

One of my absolute faves the f1. Never forget the time I saw one in the flesh. Gorgeous little thing!

This picture on PH cracked me up :D
