I'm currently smuggling and doing a little bounty hunting in my new, and gradually improving, Viper as a little break from exploring in my Adder.

It makes a nice change and keeps things fresh, but I am looking forward to returning to the outer realms soon.

I've shot down chuffin' loads of ships but am still "Harmless".

I sometimes don't get the flight mechanics of this game. I was heading towards a station, seeminly aimed right at the slot, and somehow I started veering to one side. I couldn't correct the angle, so I tried to throttle back to zero to stop, but I couldn't stop myself in time. Slammed into the station wall hard and took out over 60% of my hull! Just over 100K repair bill :(

Need to compensate for inertia. Larger ships have more. Use thrusters and roll to compensate. If you are going in too hot don't throttle back to zero to stop - go full reverse untill your speed hits zero. Same applies in all planes of movement.

Wow exploration is so much fun. Fly massive distances to get within x amount of Ls, dependant of mass, then rinse and repeat. Well I'm committed to deep space exploration now so may as well earn some money. One good thing, I'm pretty much expert at star refilling now.

****, I'm going to lose my ship next refuel arn't I?

Went on an exploration bash, bought an ASP, set everything as D rated with an A5 FSD - think I had about 35LY jump range, unladen, along with an advanced discovery scanner, and detailed surface scanner,

Was a bit annoyed in the end, must have fully scanned well over 100 objects and only made about 200-300k, I think it needs buffing a bit because it took like 4 hours to do that :( was interesting though!

Went to one of the nebulas, found some black holes and other stuff;

Cool volcanic planet with rings;

Black hole HR 1185 B

Really fast spinning nebula with rings - this was really cool;

Drifting through the rings of another nebula,

Some images;

(annoyed about the ASP cockpit bars, wish I'd done it in a clipper, but the jump range sucks)

There is nothing worse than loading up with 1.6million creds and crashing into the station wall on exit. (Shields are for the Rich)

Oh wait there is something worse, doing it again after you bought the goods again, that was about 2.5hrs of trading whilst watching big bang theory on the second screen grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I even did a mini rage quit at myself went for a walk and bought some hob nobs.

Brilliant.

I'm quite tempted with this and wondered how it might run on my PC if anyone can give me any idea?

My specs are in my sig and at the moment I'm gaming at 1920x1080 but am also looking to possible upgrade to a 27" 2560x1440 resolution monitor - any idea's how this game might run on both??

I had it running on 6yr old Q6600 (@ about 3.4ghz) with a 7870xt graphics card. It ran it most of the time at 60fps, and when struggling would drop down to about 45-55fps.

Now with an i7 with the same GFX card it sits there at 60fps rock solid basically with the i7 underclocking itself because it's so underworked.

So given your GFX is better than mine (I believe) I suspect you'd run it 60+fps easily at HD resolution. Can't comment on higher resolutions.

My brother plays it maximum details on a stock i7 920 and R9 280 at 1080p. So you should be fine.

I run it maximum details and draw at 1440p, but my two R9 290s go upwards of 70% usage on occasion.

Thanks for the replies guys - not done much gaming recently so am always unsure about how good (or bad) my rig is!

Another quick question, how does this game play with keyboard and mouse as I've not got a joystick/throttle combo?
