I run it at 1440p Max settings on my gtx680. You really don't need the latest and greatest video card to run any current game.

Using the thrust master hotas x as a controller and its great for this game. I really wouldn't bother with keyboard/mouse although an Xbox controller isn't too bad.

On yeah, the joystick manufacturers have utterly missed the boat regarding the release of Elite and star citizen. A little branding and some button configuration would have cleaned up.

Tempted for a warthog but then it's half the price of a 32" superwide screen, and it has no yaw.

Hi all,

Big fast profits to be earned at Beta Sculptoris-Fan Horizons buying performance enhancers and selling to type 9 as luxury goods=1362ppt.

Beta Sculptoris is 98% boom with about 6 type 9s buying luxury goods before it goes into probable civil war.

Just tried one run and it took only 5mins from station to ship and back again.

Happy profits to you all.

rofl

this is the system where there was a huge PVP session, a group of people tried to blockade the luxuries trader and killed all the type-9s, then a load of people in pythons and condas turned up and scrapped them,

But yeah - there's a lot of people around there who were making 60-80M a day

Hi mate, sounds like good fun.

This game is the dogs dangly bits

Forgot, best go solo as there is some naughty peeps shooting others with dumbfire missiles in the station.

yeah there was some serious griefing going on in Fan Horizons, someone in a Python was ramming the trading ships - basically an endless list of stuff going on and people losing out.. if I was big on trading, i'd be sticking to solo mode in that area lol

Also gonna go back to an Anaconda tonight, reasons why; (feels weird justifying it)

The Python is the best combat ship imo, for pure combat and nothing else... The problem with owning such a ship is the running cost, if you do pure combat you're not invincible - which means you have to trade to keep running, as a trading ship it sucks, the jump range sucks, the fuel consumption is a nightmare.

With such a big ship, there's no way of staying afloat without doing trading, profits from combat bonds aren't high enough, bounty hunting isn't high enough (but better) until they release some other form of gameplay where you can earn big money, trading is the only way to stay afloat in a big ship.

When I got rammed by the NPC Anaconda (in the hilarious video I linked) I traded out of it in no time, because the Anaconda has 450 capacity, when my Python was badly damaged, it trading takes twice as long.

I also heard the Python is about to be nerfed.. but I do love it, it's a hell of a combat ship, I actually feel more secure in it than I do an Anaconda, but there's something awesome about the Anaconda ... the sound.... the way you get the orange flashing lights when you deploy hardpoints, etc :D

When I get back from my jaunt round the galaxy I'll be switching back to a Viper and Type 6 for combat and money making as the Asp's shields may as well not be there.

Have gone down to the Viper with mostly A/B rated gear. Cargo scoop doesn't work. Can only see cargo hatch in modules which is set to 1 or 2 priority. No power issues yet I hit the scoop button and just hear a ping. Does the viper not have a scoop? 10 tonnes of cargo space.

My combat rank is now Novice. I've been occasionally stopping at Nav points during trade runs and wasting a few wanted ships before moving on. Still got a trade rank of Merchant though. Thought it would have gone up to the next rank by now...

Well that's not very encouraging, especially this early in the games life.

Just tried to fight an Anaconda for the first time. Didn't go very well. I got it down to 45%, but lost 20% of my hull in the process. And thanks to it using chaff, my gambled weapon ended up tagging a clean ship, so I had to bug out and hop systems before the authority ships gutted me.

OK - need a bit of help.

I've explored a bit, bounty hunted a fair bit and traded a LOT.

the result is my now reasonably equipped Python. It was always my aim and I now have it.

The result - what do I do now ?

Combat is all a bit samey - and a bit easy with shield cells and 3xc3, 2xc2 weapons.

Trading is boring

Exploration is not yet that great. Planet landings will give a sense of scale.

But I need a new aim I can get enthused about. Maybe I need to rank up in a faction. Any ideas would be fab.

My Viper's cargo scoop is fine.

Smuggling back stuff scooped up from USSs for bulletin board missions is pretty much the only thing I use the ship for, and I have never once had a problem with it.

Have you successfully used cargo scoops on other ship classes?
