AMD Radeon R9 295X2 Owners Thread

Godly at 4K, lower than that not sure. Will likely come down to a number of factors including game support, cpu threading optimisation and raw cpu ghz speed.

I will try to put up some scaling numbers when i get the cards, that will be a fun project to do.

Well that's good enough for me! I think I'll be grabbing another one when I give my sys a mini-overhauling a month or 2 using the H110i GT and Enthoo Red/Black Primo

How well does yours overclock Si?

If anyone has the XFX model I'd love to know what sort of overclocks you're getting? Although i will run the cards stock and undervolted 24/7, I'd still like to play around with overclocking.

Honestly not tried seriously m8, but an undervolt of 55mV seems to be really good from what I've seen! Looks like it'd be a decent enough chip if I did :)

What kind of temps do these run at with stock clocks? I've seen many people say they throttle pretty quickly which isn't encouraging.

Get me EK full cover waterblock tuesday will fit it in my loop then.
watercooled 3770k and 295x2. using push pull on a thermochill pa120.3 and a tripple monster oc cool rad. should be plenty of cooling there.

Pics or it didn't happend ! :D

That's good indeed. My best clocking 290X reference card will only do -0.050v. :)

Matt what are the benefits of undervolting ?I only play on 1080p..and have no issues with overheating..just curious.

Looking forward to it, which case?

I'm going to ditch my Carbide 540 and get a 750D for the 2x295x2's. I'll miss the 540, it was a good case. Annoyingly i did not long ago pay for the expensive dust filters for it, but them's the breaks i guess.

phanteks evolv. might go water. not decided yet.

Yay, I found my modular PCI-E cable, so I don't need to buy a new PSU! might save the £100 and put it towards that Acer Predator freesync monitor coming out in March!

I've only had mine throttle when overclocked to 1100/1650 and running Dragon Age: Inquisition at VSR 1440p everything on max. Even with that overlcock nothing else caused throttling, including 3+ hours loop of Heaven benchmark. Since then though I've dropped my overclock back to 1025/1550 with a -15mv undervolt and I'm seeing DA:I max out at about 67 degrees.

Thanks :) I would just be running it at stock clocks for gaming so it seems like it would be fine.

it is possible to undervolt this card at stock clocks?

Depends on the silicon lottery but I've undervolted mine by 15mv and I've also overclocked it to 1025/1550 so could probably undervolt it a bit more at stock.

The overclocking is pretty pointless, only a slight gain in benchmarks and nothing noticable in games but it just doesn't seem right to have a card running at stock when I know it could be overclocked :D

Well I have no interest in overclocking a card of this power, what im more concerned about is minimizing the possibility of throttling as much as possible.
My room gets pretty toasty at night, so being able to undervolt the card and reduce its operating temps would be highly advantagous to me.

Yeah I can understand that, I only recently moved into a new house and got my office setup so I'm not sure how warm it'll get in the summer time so I may well remove the overclock and see how low I can get the volts then if it becomes an issue. I'm currently running all my case fans pretty slow as well so I also have that as an option to keep temps under control. As I said though, nothing else apart from DA:I or going silly with the overclocks and increasing voltage has got me close to throttling yet.

If I understand well you get reduced heat by undervolting as it reduces the power yes ? What is the best way (most accurate sw) to monitor gpu temps ? I game in a room with heating off and window open as I like cold :D but I am afraid of summer !

Hmm I will install it then again, I tried to uninstall it to get rid of CPU spikes on bf4 but it didn't help. Shame I can't do overlay on Battlefield 4 as it uses mantle... but at least it show max temp in the graphs.
