BT to buy mobile firm EE for £12.5bn

I think it's the reason we lost Orange Weds  and apart from that everything will continue on the same?

I'll still get a **** EE signal from my house :p

Yeah, looking forward to what deals they do with the whole phone/tv/internet/mobile setup, currently got BT infinity and I'm a fairly low user of the mobile (low enough that the 3 PAYG setup is <£5 a month) so even just a basic 'free' mobile allowance would suit me :)

Really hope it doesn't make it past anti competitive review, Less competition in home broadband isn't a good thing BT are already stupidly overpriced in broadband and home phone costs as it is. I am with EE atm and pay £23 a month for unlimited 40mb broadband, home phone anytime calls with free international to 500 countries and 500 minutes mobile calls, no way I will get such good retention deals with BT in ownership.

Great move imp,

EE is over priced and clueless.
I see this as part of BTs huge push in internet, TV and now hopefully mobiles.

Looks like they are set to take on virgin and sky and so far the seem to be doing it far better than either. More competition is great.
Although I doubt there would be much change in the short term.

Two of the worst companies I've ever delt with, the thought of them being one company makes me glad I've not been a customer of either for the past 6 years.
