Suicide mission to Mars

I'd go too.

Edit: Clicked on video, first question they asked the physics student was "have you ever had sex". Not entirely sure how relevant that is to space travel...

At what point when they get to Mars do they kill themselves?

heh - you are taking your life in your hands though none the less - short of a hugely complex mission there is little chance of surviving through being self sufficient without resupply missions. initially any base would be highly susceptible to being wiped out entirely by unforeseen design flaws, etc. and it'll be decades until the return trip would be possible (if your lucky) should you change your mind.

It's going to be a long voyage to certain death, so I'm guessing some sexy times might occur.

Watched more of it and they asked the same question to the lady from Iraq. She replied with "there is always self pleasure"! Her story was very interesting too. She hated how women were so badly oppressed so she left to the USA :p

They need to know how to reproduce :p

Actually 'space babies' could be interesting. I wonder what effects the Zero-G of space would have on child development. Hmm.

Is there any realistic proposition of them actually going, where's the spaceship for a start? Mars One seems like 99% fantasy which has drawn a cult like following.

I remember when they released the "competition" - lots of people thought it would be cool. Whilst it is amazing, there's too much wonder and beauty on earth I'd like to enjoy and experience. Also, it is such a massive commitment, and very much "you will be alone".

There is the slight issue that do you want someone who's careless (or selfless, either fits) enough to sacrifice their life to be famous to be trusted with the controls of an extremely expensive and complicated spacecraft?

That said, short of sending robots out to build a return rocket/building an orbital ship/inventing warp drive/breaking mavity there's no other way to do it.

I'd personally have gone with the orbital ship, a big one with multiple landers, centrifugal quarters and an all in one base on board, but of course nobody's going to fund that.
