I'm currently running with decent beams as my main weapons on my cobra but want the best multi cannons possible for secondary. Any idea what the best multi cannons that will fit are?

Fixed C1 multicannons - if you can aim them, on average fixed does 20% more damage than gimbled, so they provide a significant advantage - but are harder to use, (but also more fun imo)

Well my beams are fixed as I really don't like gimballed lasers but my multi cannons are gimballed as I'm not sure fixed ones would be easy to aim.

Any idea where to buy c3 multi cannons? How much do they cost?

Well that was fun.

Get interdicted in my Type9 by an asp.

I cannot possibly out-manoeuvre him. Just me and him so I put my lasers into 'target only mode'. He is being whittled away, I'm putting out chaff and it all looks groovy.

Then flipping fed-security turn up. One flys through and gets hit by my laser. At that point they start attacking me..

I manage to get away and then have the prospect of silent running into a starport in a type9 to clear my bounty.

So I line up, slient running on, thrusters off. And Just make it.

Can't wait for the next patch that allows a more tolerant approach to friendly fire.

Its a double edge on the FF front, i quite like it tbh, makes you more aware. Granted pilots can be fools for running into a beam but heh ho.

Had some great fun today, been playing about with my Python, trying differant load-outs and what not, made over 100 kills, collected a good few million in bounties, with a good few more to collect, but due to a few mistakes including going up against a pair of Anacondas at once and i lost my canopy a couple of times and had a few repair bills of about 800k... overall im 1mill out of pocket. :(

Seems im fair poor at combat and so it appears im currently stuck hauling to make any decent money, then bounty hunting when that gets boring... Hopefully new content, more varied missions and more rewarding exploration will give me more purpose.

Cos if scanned and found wanted the feds would have opened up on me AFAIK !

there is a far less risky way of dealing with this (although it is far less exciting)

Go to a system where you're not wanted,

Buy a sidewinder

Go to the system where you are wanted - except go to a platform to pay the bounty (platforms don't have police and don't scan you, so you're fine)

^I don't understand because whenever I've been wanted I simply fly into a station and pay the bounty!? Never had a station fire on me because I'm wanted.

just tried it (in a sidewinder) and blow me down - they scanned me and didn't open fire. It was an allied faction - does that make a difference.

All those times I've silent run into a starport with FA OFF and nearly died when it appears I didn't need to :-)

it can depend how quickly you go in, if they start scanning you and your wanted they'll almost certainly open fire - if you let the scan complete, if you go through the slot quick enough quite often nothing happens..

If your wanted, and you get "caught" at the station, you get a comms message saying "you are wanted in this sector - engaging"

Also, it's worth noting that in the 1.1 patch today, I believe their turning this down - in some circumstances the station would attack you if you had a local bounty, this is no longer the case - only the police will attack you now

Yep - Generally if you fly at full speed towards the entrance, the scan doesn't finish by the time you are in.

Many times I've dropped out of SC a bit from station, turned off all non essential modules then flown with FA Off at the letterbox and engaged silent to avoid a scan.

99% of the time just flying towards the entrance quickly does the same :D

Doing anything quickly in a type9 is difficult.

Was sweating a bit as I had 486t of beryllium on board.

I'm guessing that maybe being allied with the station made a difference.

My god,

I just tried the frontier forums again, to see when 1.1 is dropping (I believe it is today) to just see endless hate threads, I didn't think things were this bad??

Yer mate, I have a Python I'm not happy about the nerf that is happening!

Stelly

It's in dire need of balance/nerf though lol, you can't deny it :D

Stronger shields than an A7 on an Anaconda,
Pitch/roll/acceleration, not far off an average Cobra
3x C3 and 2x C2 hardpoints
280+ cargo capacity....
Can land on outposts

I mean, with those stats - there's no reason why you would ever fly or need any other ship in the entire game, specifically around it's handling - for something that can deliver that amount of DPS and be so fast/manoeuvrable,

To be fair the python was truly OP. But, they should have left it as was until there are more ships in the game. It's much easier to balance when you have more data to work with.
