I'm totally bummed with having to re-cert some certifications this week, otherwise i'd have been stuck to my HOTAS all week.

One thing I want to know - i've had a few close calls with collisions, I'm assuming if I die, whilst I keep the money I've handed in - I assume i'll lose my place in the table, along with it's rewards/discounts..

I was very close to dying on my first time. I forgot I had not assigned my Shield Cell bank and got ripped apart in seconds (down to 35% hull) and just managed to jump out of there.

2.8Mil repairs against 80K bounties wasn't very good....School boy error and ouchie one at that

rofl! yeah that's pretty nasty,

I carry 2x A6 SCBs, but I have one of them switched off under my modules, so when one runs out of ammo I just turn it off and switch the other one on, just have to be careful - if I accidentally have both turned on at once, it oversubscribes the reactor and I lose all shields.

Thanks for the tip on Palladium found a low risk route 1100 per tonne on Palladium (unlimited supply right now) not bothering with the return trip cargo. I can net an easy 64000 per hour its still a grind as my cargo holds are maxxed out at 16t so I need to get a bigger ship to really reap the rewards here.

I did and was the first to discover many different planets

To those in the know...I was just as the conflict zone and happily killing away and then everyone turned on me.... Too many friendly fire hits? I managed to escape with 15% hull left

lol christ - yeah you have to be VERY careful with friendly fire.... they've fixed it so the smallest bit of damage won't trigger it, but if you catch any ship with a stray shot and it does any amount of damage - yes, every single thing will attack you at once, and it's really really unpleasant.

Repairs were 3.8mil and my bounties were 300K, so not much profit lol

Man, I bought this today. How ******* hard is this game!!!?

I admit I'm not a flight simmy type person and haven't played Elite in 20 years but christ almighty, the tutorial missions which initially ease you in, then completely annihilate you on the last one where you attack a convoy...

I've gone from killing two enemies on my own with relative ease to being utterly battered by two enemies with two wingmen as well...? Good fun though

Does anyone know the best setup for a Hotas X because it almost feels like you need a physics degree to set up the controller. While most are self explanatory, I'll quite honestly admit I'm bamboozled with all the settings and when I assign Yaw to the twist axis of the right stick, if I then select left and right thrusters to the left stick triggers, it resets the yaw on the right stick...?? I'm not quite sure what's going on unless it's just a matter of trial and error until I find a config which suits.

just spent an hour messing around, put "MARS THE BRINGER OF WAR" on whilst smashing things up in the conflict zone, works quite well

Stick with it, commander.

Do a search for crab's thrustmaster setup. He's created a great custom config for the Thrustmaster and produced a config file you can just drop into a folder in the Elite directory. He's also created a pdf with the controls on it to help get you acquainted with it.

ok I went to check Banki where these is a similar Community Goal with a Low intensity zone, but the local station had no items of interest. I signed up and had a quick fight anyway.

Went to Khasiri but nothing there on the board about the goal. But their station did have a lot of high end gear

So I kitted out nicely.

next to BD+03 and no community goal on the board. Where am I going wrong? Did BD+03 finish already?

Did you travel to Malucci (or something like that) at BD+03? That station is about 5 mins from the sun and that is where I signed up. You have to return there each time you want to cash in your bounties as well.

Good choice of music and nice vid. I managed to spend around 2-3 hours in one hit there and picked up 666,000 in bonds and didn't use a single shield cell. I stuck close to the ship and pretty much stole plenty of kills. I am still around 6 mill down from when I started but it makes a nice change from trading and is helping improve my combat. I must remember to use reverse like you do as well.

The station you need to sign on at is in Khasiri (I think that is its name).

Thanks, I went back but its still not available on the board.. I can only think that because I took the Banki one that you cant have more than one active.

Ill go back to Banki as the CZ is right next to the terminal anyway, so its a bit more handy.
