What do you consider to be the single best half-hour or hour of TV you have ever seen?

I would like to nominate the wedding episode of Peep Show. Not much can compete with Peep Show for me when it was on form, and that was the pinnacle imo. Even though it was all about whether Mark would marry Sophie, and the tension was unbearable, the real brilliance, as always, is the built up tension between Mark and Jeremy, and it reaches its peak in this episode.

My favourite piece of TV ever.

I'd have to agree with this, although not a lot happens in the woods, the tension and later unbelievable barrage is just incredible. Time to go watch them all again.

Deus Ex Machina ending from LOST always comes to mind. I don't know what it was about that show, but I wish I could go back and watch it all again for the first time. I love everything about it.
