Does owning a top end pc change you as a person?

I've sold my fairly bad gaming laptop and I've bought a top end pc, all the shebang, dual 144hz monitors etc. Whilst it's abnsoloutely amazing and I can't wait to get home from work every day, I find at work that I basically don't give a crap about much at the moment. Does anyone else find this? It's as though once I have this pc, I don't need anything, so I don't go seeking friendship etc. I get bored of conversation easily. Basically I don't care about small talk any more.

I'm quite worried. I have been doing really well at this firm up until now but I suspect this recent change in my life may change things. SURELY some of you fellow pc enthusiasts face similar situations?

You've made it, son. You've peaked, reached the summit, the culmination of your life's work.

Just try to remember all the little people.

When I was about 17 and to a lesser extent and it wears off fairly quickly - I worked my **** off doing overtime to afford the very latest and greatest spec at the time but I've not experienced it with such purchases since, though for the last 7-10 years I've mostly bought a little behind bleeding edge as it ends up being much more sensible use of the money in the long run.

I'm the same, ever since I got my top end PC I walk around with a bit more swagger, feel a bit more superior to everyone. My girlfriend gets less attention from me, I just want to stay in with my top end PC. I'm considering cancelling my summer holiday just so I can spend more time at home with it.

You actually care beyond it operating in the way you require it to without it being slow and dated, about the specification of your desktop PC?

As the above posted said...whatever floats your boat :p

When I go out I tell chicks I've got a 980 HOF edition and a Oculus, they loves it. Seriously though I've spent near on £6k since I've had this PC on monitors, upgrades, replacing parts I broke in rage and spilling drinks on them and I hardly ever use it :)

I think people should be identified according to what spec PC they have. I was thinking of something like making everyone wear a symbol... perhaps a star. The more "top end" your PC, the different colour the star. People with old PCs shouldn't be allowed certain jobs, or allowed to go to the cinema or restaurants. They should be forced to hang around with their own kind. Basically, some way to show that people with a "top end" PC are clearly the superior race.

Who else is on board?
