Windows 7 Disc Install With No DVD Drive

I thought there was no DVD-ROM in your machine ?

Got to remember all the disc is a container of files. Nothing more nothing less.
An .iso image is just a container of files also.

Whether you have an image or a dvd the files will be the same.

You need to get the files out of one of these containers and put them into another container. i.e. your USB stick.

But the USB stick\drive has to be and I mean HAS to be prepared correctly or it will not work. Simply formatting it under Windows is NOT how to do it.
3'rd party software is NOT needed.

As I posted earlier, and it was pointed to again, Command Prompt is the easiest method.

I've done what you said. It did something lol. I'll c/p the files from my disc onto my USB stick now and give it a try once my system is complete.

I might have not been 100% serious. ;)

I do wonder if the OP can't get his head around the simple concepts of :
1) Using Google to find stuff
2) typing lists of words into a command prompt

Should they be building a PC?

I wish the OP luck...

I sort of know where your coming from but on the other hand we have to start somewhere.

If the OP had gone to Google he would have found a nice little forum dedicated to such stuff and had loads of help there. Maybe even from me still.
Stuff we could have said that I am pretty sure not allowed on here.

Sounds like he'll get it though.;)

Just eat some bikkies now..

Checked it's SHA1 with the one from MSDN and they are a perfect match.

I did what you said with command prompt and my USB stick. After doing that, I copied all the files on my Windows 7 disc over to my USB and booted from it on my new PC. Windows 7 is currently installing as I type this. One thing I've learn't from this, is I should have bought a CD/DVD drive and I will be purchasing one this week lol :D

There are a lot of people who would say the optical drive has had its day.
I would be lost without one, even if it only gets used now and again.
 
Find ISO, download it.
Use Rufus to create bootable USB stick.

Don't use your old disc if it's not SP1.
