New single - In The Heat Of The Moment

Wow, where have I been, incredible news. Thought we'd be waiting at least another year or two.

Not liking the new single though... damn. :( I know that the Dying Of The Light is incredible though so fingers crossed for the rest/album as a whole.

B-Side 'Do The Damage' is a bit pants as well, and that was apparently initially going to be the album opener. Not holding out much hope for this now, please prove me wrong Noelly G!

Dying Of The Light is amazing though.

New tune is absolutely phenomenal, not least because Noel actually changes key during a verse - unprecedented, never thought I'd see the day.

Same tosh.

And once again, a song has element stole/ripped from a classic.

Ballad of the Mighty - Immigrant Song

Amazon delivered my digital copy to my "Amazon Music" folder at five past midnight this morning :)
Had one listen then, and have had it looping most of this afternoon.
Not going to sit here and attempt to disect it or critique it the way I'm sure some will. Like it, seems plenty of strong tracks on here.
Noel's voice is as strong as ever.
Will be listened to a lot.

Ballad of the Mighty - Immigrant Song

Are you referring to the bassline? Such a tenuous link, the rhythm is slightly similar but that's about it. Mighty Ballad is nowhere near the same arena in terms of feel, vibe, heck, even genre, let alone greatness.

I've been playing the album since it leaked last week or so. It's okay but apart from Dying Of The Light, and the aforementioned Mighty Ballad, there's not much on there that makes me go 'wow', but it's fairly consistent and solid and flows well (and quickly) as an album (I dare say slightly better overall than the first album but there are less standout tracks, read: Oasis hit style tracks).

Off to see him in Paris in just over a week! Hoping to hear some of the new stuff at the gig.

Noel was my favourite Gallagher (after Frank) but I wish he'd stop moaning about everyone else.
So what Ed Sheeran is selling out Wembley..he's a talented guy and makes catchy songs.
At least he knows more than 4 chords.
Noel - stop winging and get on with it.

I think he's just annoyed that Rock and Roll is pretty much dead and that pop music has taken over.

I don't think it was anything personal against Ed, I'm sure the twitter replies back and forth ended up fairly humorous.

Anyway who wants a Noel Gallagher without his moaning side, it's one reason most people love him, he says what he wants.

It's a shame Liam is off the scene now, he was ******* hilarious back in the 90's and early 2000's.
