I don't see why they'd need much data from Honda other than the engine data and some bodyshell specs. Everything else is spec parts.

Ok, so it looks like Obutto UK is dead. The website has been down for a month, they've been out of stock since October/November last year and Obutto EU won't get any until early April. Even the guy that runs Obutto UK and GT Omega has suggested ordering from Obutto EU and so does Chris in the Obutto forum.

That means with the fee and rubbish exchange rates that debit/credit cards offer its going to cost £800 for me to get an Obutto Revolution with triple monitor arms and the acrylic table tops.

My question is the Obutto Revolution worth nearly double the price of the GT Omega Professional Supreme?

I think the only doubt I have over the the GTO is the keyboard tray, since this is going to be replacing my desk. And I need which ever sim rig I buy to be usable for playing FPS games, as well as general PC use.

Any advice appreciated.

Yeah I have noticed that the U.K site has been down. I am in the same boat as you mate, and I have not had any seat time due to my desk and chair set-up being far too uncomfortable, even playing around with AC for an hour leaves me achy. I was hoping to renew my iracing sub to coincide with the Obutto.

Like yourself, the Obutto would be replacing the desk, so I need a good keyboard tray and the one thing that deters me away from the Omega, is the weak looking keyboard tray. It seems like an afterthought on their part. Will have to re-evaluate my options I feel. The Obutto ticks all the boxes for me.

I've emailed Leo at GT Omega and asked about the keyboard tray and how it compares to the Obutto as a desk replacement. And since he's the UK distributor for Obutto as well, when the Obutto might be available in the UK.

I've also asked him about the V2 keyboard tray that's available for the GT Omega as well. The V2 looks to be more adjustable to me, so maybe it would be worth the extra £25 on top.

I suppose the main question is whether or not the Obutto is worth £350 more than the Omega for what looks like a slightly improved keyboard tray. Because the GT Omega seems just as good in all other areas, compared to the Obutto.

Weird, i was reading in the Star Citizen Reddit that the US distributer (Performance PC or something like that) wasnt getting any in till May i think it was.
Its a product that seems to pop up every month or 2, for its HOTAS appeal, and whenever people complain about the price and how such & such does one for half the price, i always have a look at them and they all look utter tosh. None of them appear to have that bomb-proof rigidity you'd want, they all look flimsy like the really cheap race seat with a bit of steal piping to mount the wheel on. They just look like you could fart and bend it.

Maybe they'd take a hell of a beating, but they just dont look like much, the Obutto looks like it'd be sufficient for a roll-cage, not a 'My First Playseat'.

Sucks if he's shutting down though.
I paid £735 for the triple screen, acrylic tabletop (havent had it in for more than 1/2 its usage, removed it again a while back) and the HOTAS mounts (about £30-40)
So £800 would be about £100 more for the same thing. It sucks, but i kinda think its worth it still, personally.

My reasoning for removing the tabletops was the left side clips the wall unit tabletop i have to my side, i can angle it so its used but i didnt really use them anyway. If i ever get around to raising the R3v to try and absorb the vibrations of the Buttkicker, then i'd probably put them back on, but at the same time i can quite easily live without them. They do look nice though. No issue with them as a product.

I don't think there's any issues with the GT Omega, as far as rigidity is concerned. They've made some improvements to it's weak areas over the years and from the reviews on YouTube of the latest version I don't really have any concerns there.

My only concern with it is the keyboard tray. If it's on a par with the Obutto, I think I'll save myself a few hundred pounds and get the GT Omega.

I'm not sure that the Obutto would be 'worth' £350 more, wouldn't it be an option to buy the keyboard tray separately (I think it's about £80ish) and see if it can be engineered into the GT Omega rig?

I use the Obutto and a friend has the GT Omega and I don't think either of us would change.

I do use mine for FPS stuff too and it's no problem, although I use the additional perspex tabletops for my keyboard though, and I have the keyboard tray as a big arm rest/mouse pad. Works well for me and never gives me issues.

Looking at both I think personally I'd still favour the Obutto, it seems more versatile and with the perspex tables etc will allow you more setups etc. On the right perspex table I have my button box mounted on the arm for instance.

Can provide a pic if it helps.

Jeeze, theres a special place in hell for people like this!

I dont see them playing iR again any time soon, not that it'll be much of a consolation to you.
