Is the gfx divide between the PS4 and XO narrowing?

Console features, friends and ergonomics are much bigger factors than which has marginally less jaggies.

This threads about gfx.

The sooner the Xbone fanboys accept there is a difference the sooner these threads will disappear.

Why MS didnt make a 1080p console in the first place...

I own both consoles and I think the PS4 is by far the better console. I prefer the controller, the UI, it's faster, games install much quicker. Plus there is no difference between PSN and XBL in my opinion.

It's quite a big gap between the two in terms of power available. The PS4 is also easier to code for.
It might be worth noting though, that any cross platform games will use the exact same engines, textures and audio, and any difference in capabilities probably won't be taken advantage of 90% of the time. It will mostly be noticable on exclusives.

I feel sorry for those that can only afford one console and plumped for a PS4. It's clear that Sony are struggling to sign big western exclusives and don't seem able to improve PSN or implement missing features on the software front (instant resume and dlna being the most notable).

Also as highlighted above, it seems that most developers are using the X1 as a measure so the PS4 versions end up being extremely similar in graphical quality.

This is a troll post in case anyone hadn't realised.

Friends, controller preference, exclusives > graphical power.

If the PS4 ticks the box for the first 3, PS4, if the Xbox does, Xbox.

The graphics divide only exists in the minds of people that like playing spec top trumps. You would have to be trying really, really, really hard to convince yourself that the gaming experience on an XB1 is materially inferior to PS4.

No.

I have played BF4 on both my PS4 and X1 on the same TV, BF4 is superior on the PS4.

If people look at it objectively and compare on the same set you cannot deny the PS4 offers the superior experience.

I just find the comments some people come out with in these types of threads incredible. Either people are really stupid or they're just stirring.

I think every XBO owner would admit that there is a difference graphically in most games cross platform games. Anyone that refuses to admit it is a cretin. The fact is the PS4 is more powerful, thus is potentially the better gaming console.

So graphical differences and specs aside, the debate on which is the better console for a particular person comes down to what else it can do (media, sharing, online etc if you use them), how it feels to play (controller etc), how many of your mates have one and which has exclusives you want. Not really up for debate as most of this is personal preference or only if you use the features.

The only other reason for debate is performance and frame rate. That's down to coding. It should run properly regardless of what it looks like on either console and shouldn't be used in any argument about which is better as ultimately the PS4 should come out on top.

Edit: For the record, I've had an XBO for a year and play cross platform games on it. PS4 is for exclusives.

I opted for an Xbox One and in hindsight I think it was a mistake. Not only is it more expensive than the Playstation, it's less powerful, I'm forever having to recharge AA batteries for the controller and I dont consider spending £20+ on the official battery pack to be a realistic fix to this problem. I don't like the GUI at all, it's completely un-uniform, when the settings menus look completely different from the dashboard there's no sense of consistency to the experience.

It's also slow and clunky to navigate, you can tell that the whole thing was designed to be used with gestures and voice controls. You can't even use the gestures unless you splash out yet more money on a Kinect which in every game I've played so far seems to be a novelty and an afterthought, meaning that the sole purpose of the Kinect is to make the dashboard less of a pain to use. A lot of it feels counter intuitive, I don't like the way the entire system is geared toward having an app for everything too. I mean I couldn't even watch a Blu Ray before I visited the store, downloaded and installed the Blu Ray app.

There also doesn't seem to be anything vaguely interesting in the pipeline, at least with Sony we know there's going to be a few Naughty Dog games and whatever the Japan Studios cook up.

What a bizarre bunch the Sony diehards are here - this perceived gfx divide has been overblown from the offset and I feel sorry for anyone who is missing out on all the superb AAA exclusives that the X1 has purely because their PS4 is "more powerful".

Forza, Horizon, Halo, Dead Rising, Titanfall. All reasons alone to own a X1.

Sony struggle with PSN, don't update the OS and have a shortage of quality exclusives. Killzone was ok for a tech demo and driveclub, which is once again, pretty to look at but not on the level of Forza or GT.

I consider swappable battery packs a massive plus for the XB1 personally. First time your PS4 batteries die in the middle of a Destiny raid and you end up having to sit cross-legged 2 foot from the screen with the USB cable plugged time, you'll not be complaining :p

Forza 5's DLC was laughable at best, Halo was/is broken and Dead Rising and Titanfall are available on PC. Hardly worth owning an Xbox for.

Forza's DLC is and has always been just car packs. I'm referring to paid DLC. If I'm not mistaken only Forza 5 had tracks offered as free DLC?

Hahaha, if you like charging your batteries on your xbox one you'll love having to charge the Dualshock 4.

My batteries lasted me weeks at launch on the XB1, playing Dead Rising 3, Battlefiled 4 & Forza 5, yet I'm lucky if my DS4 lasts 8 hours from a full 12 hour charge, and no my DS4 is not faulty, it's a month old.

Could someone please recommend me some good western exclusives for my PS4 please? Don't mind what type of game it is, just not anything Japanese or independent, or infamous as that is terrible.

Fancy picking up something this week as haven't had much use on my PS4 lately.
