Got that one!
giving the sim to partner and i'll use my one plan :p:p
had a zerolemon on basket but was waiting to confirm the credit check before ordering and now its gone out of stock! dammit

The way things are going the note 5 might not have SD slot or replaceable battery :(
Whats the deal with the mobile industry moving away from SD slots? I know they are generally giving us higher onboard memory, but I love having SD slot, would be even better if i had and externally accessible slot, I quite often swap between cards when i'm away from home, surely its not that huge of an ask to have both high capacity onboard memory and an SD slot.

It wouldnt be a complete show stopper for me if it was no longer a feature but it would definitely be a factor, ultimately its why i have never been interested in the nexus devices.

With quick charging(3 pin and car charger), replaceable battery although a handy feature is for me no longer an issue.

They are highly unreliable and prone to failure - not really surprising manufacturers are moving away from them. Non removable batteries on the other hand... inexcusable!

Never had a failure myself either, I always unmount before removing, whether that helps or not though I'm not sure.

My Note 4 arrived on Sunday just waiting for the activation/porting process to take place which should be tomorrow some time :) I have had a play with the phone and wow! Impressed doesn't even remotely cover it.

The are most definitely not!

Many have lifetime warranties, are dust, shock and waterproof. It's pretty much a forgone conclusion that any SD card will outlive the device you're using it in, several times over.

I appreciate many people will "never have had one fail" which is good but a LOT of people do have them fail and its far from a forgone conclusion they will outlive the handset.
in my 5 years of using android phones I've had 3 cards fail on me and its not some freak occurance.

Still really liking my Note 4 after having it a few days, the Lollipop update is needed though.

I've ordered a Kingston 64GB Micro SD card for it, and a Spigen Neo Hybrid Metal case.

Obviously a lot will fail, so will anything that's sold in large numbers. But as a percentage the amount is tiny, far, far lower than that of pretty much all other (far more complex) electronic products.

Obviously if people are buying bargain basement cards from a random street corner shop then they're going to fail more frequently, but a good quality card is going to last.

Your actual point was that they're highly unreliable, which they simply aren't. They really are far more reliable than the phones they're used in.

Thats a rather bold statement... any evidence to support this or is it just opinion/hyperbole based on the fact you've not had problems with sdcards?
