A couple of quick snaps of the case itself, unfortunately I'm having to wait for my camera to charge
The two parts to the case together. As mentioned, the metal 'bumper' band slides away from the rubber case to aid in installation. The rubber is quite tough so it should take a bit of a beating.
Here's the back of the case, it's got a nice textured finish and does feel secure in the hand - this was my main concern really as a few of the official pics don't quite show the textured finish off all too well. The cut outs are in exactly the right places too so the heart sensor, flash, speaker, S-Pen, and ports are all easily accessible. You'll notice the metal band has been seperated here, I hoped maybe you could use it with and without the band, but it's not the case sadly, the plastic case has been designed with the metal band in mind so there's a lip around where the screen is for the band to sit securely. It should stop the band from coming loose too.
A quick pic of the metal band. I went for red, but there's a couple of colours available. The corners protrude slightly as they do on the Note 4 so it all feels very nice in the hand, the metal is sturdy and solid, and has a nice 'cold' feeling to it. The cut is perfect and the silver bezel is nicely polished - again, it keeps the same design as the Note 4 so it doesn't look too out of place. You may notice that the headphone jack port and USB ports are quite large - I believe this is on purpose - the headphone one is so you can plug in bigger jack connectors like those found on Beats headphones.
And a pic of the bottom end of the metal band - again showing the larger ports top and bottom. The buttons on the sides - power, vol up and down have the same metal feel and finish as the rest of the band, impressive.
I'm going to get some pics of it tonight with the phone in place on my HTC One M7 so apologies if the image quality isn't great.
Generally, I'm very happy with the case, it feels nice and has a great design. All of the ports and holes are exactly where they need to be, and you can still access the S-Pen easily thanks to the oversized holes - I don't have a set of headphones with a larger than normal connector, but I'd imagine they'll fit perfectly too.
The rubber part of the case protrudes above the screen a small amount (0.8mm apparently) which means the screen isn't touching a desk if you turn it upside for example.
The only slight negative I've got with the case is that the USB port opening has a slightly rough edge - part of the design rather than the finish/manufacturing process, which can get a little annoying if you hold the phone in one hand and have your little finger to keep it from slipping out your hand. Easily fixable though.
