nVidia announce the Titan X at GDC 2015

I know that some info is still unknown but hypothetically given an X79 RIVE + 3930@5GHz how many would you be able to run before any bottlenecking ;)

Would say replacing my 670's with Titan X's be feasible or would I need to be looking at MB/CPU as well (gaming at 7860x1440) ?

Has to hit under £800 for me or be as fast as 2 x 980. Single cards dont deserve a premium when nearly every mobo can handle sli. If over £800 l'll wait for the 6gb 980ti for £580

+1

Ideally the Titan X would be priced under £800.

If it came in at say £750, I could buy the Titan X and be relatively hate free..

My budget is up to £820 any-more and I'm out. Will have to pick something cheap up though while I wait for 390X / 980 Ti ... Currently using this :

Maybe Gregs 290 :p

On modern games with SLI support, 4 easy.

You are more likely to have a bottleneck on X99 lol.:)

You may need to update the mobo bios though to recognise Maxwell cards.

Thanks for that

Don't think 4 will be on the cards but one for each monitor would be feasible :D

Have hung on to the 670's and they've done me proud but it's upgrade time I think and I like my current MB/CPU set up on water :)

You still got an X79 rig to test that hypothesis Kaap, because i can't see how even with the lower clocks the efficiency of HW-E wont either even it out or actually offer more performance. What do i know though, never ran 4 cards and only ever used X79 :(

Will manufacturers like msi, asus, gigabyte etc, sell Titan X with customs coolers, like they do on the 970 & 980 ?

Or, is this something that generally doesn't happen with Titan graphics cards ?

quote :-

``If you just gaming though, with nothing else, then Z97 is the way forward, unless you want to wait for Skylake this year (big performance improvement rumoured).```

you only have to read the CPU thread to realise what others think, DDR 4 right now isn't worth it...... but later on maybe
