nVidia announce the Titan X at GDC 2015

As you can see GTX TITAN X has GM200-400-A1 GPU. I can’t tell you for sure this is the full chip, but I have every reason to believe it actually is 3072-core processor. The PCB layout is quite similar to what we know from GK110 products. It would be interesting to know if Kepler waterblocks will fit onto GM200 board, wouldn’t that be great?. I know many of you will go liquid with this card.

I do know however, that EVGA is making GTX TITAN X HydroCopper. The rumor is, it will cost just one kidney this time. Awesome.

I am pretty much decided on getting one now and see how that goes. If it copes with every game I have, I will stick with one but if not, I will grab another but I don't want to really spend on a pair of they are not needed.

Edit:

That pic looks pretty much spot on for the GK110 Titan on a quick look and I have 2 swiftech waterblocks with the water cooled backplates :p

Can see amd getting hit with the same move as last gen. Titan comes out 1st, few months later the 390x only to find itself with a 980ti sort of card to get close to the price, with similar performance.

Having doubts about moving to Titan X already, I think if I do I might get buyers remorse (Purely because of price).

Aaaaargh do I don't I?

Do I really want to spend this much on single GPU?!

980 Ti / 390X in next few months??

Really don't want to get buyers remorse lol..

We all know the price is not right but it's hard to resist new hardware, wonder if there is a GPUs anonymous? But seriously I fell for the original Titan and it's the old fool me once thing with this I guess. The 780Ti came out for cheaper and faster later, but not all of us have the patience so I can't blame anyone for getting the Titan X.

What does this graphic card do that others don't? I had a GTX980 and I returned it (lucky to get full refund) because I thought it was a waste of money and now I am back on GTX580 ( both cards referenced designed). My GTX580 is actually a 3gb memory and it runs cooler than the GTX980. I thought the GTX980 was supposed to run cooler because according to the specification supposed to draw less power.

Out of curiosity what model 580 have you got?

On the TX I guess if you're running extreme resolutions the wider bus bandwidth and overkill on vram will give less limitations mainly when using multiple cards. For example one user was asking last week about 3 980s now or two Titan X for running 3 1440p ROG Swifts. 2XTX would be a better choice imo with extreme workload like that.

The only thing is NVIDIA really could sell a high end card like that for a more reasonable price like an equivalent to the 6GB 780. Or they can also sell a hyped up product for double the price first and make some serious profit so what company wouldn't?

It will hinge on the reviews for me. It it performs like a monster I will likely grab one, one good thing about Nvidia cards is they do retain a lot of resale value. If the worst came to it I could always sell it on later if AMD do release something that is a lot quicker.

AMD cards are rumoured for June launch, I can't go that long without GPU so I may as well grab Titan X (Depending on price) and then see what AMD respond with later on. Unlike some others here I'm happy to switch between camps for the faster cards, just worried about losing a lot of money if 390X is a lot faster / cheaper.

Nvidia must be pretty confident that the Titan X is a beast though, as they are launching first.. At least it will be the fastest for a little while :p

They have to launch Titan first as less people would pay the premium if Nvidia/Amd have cards performing similarly on the market with less ram ala Titan Black. The original Titan sold pretty good because apart from dual cards there was nothing that could touch it.

I don't really care what AMD bring out, I like Shadow Play too much :)

I just need to decide, whether to buy a Titan X now, or wait till they release a 980Ti, for approx the same performance at a cheaper price.

I think I have done quite well, not upgrading to the 980 for the last 6 months.

TechPowerUp GPU-Z v0.8.2

And..

Lol.

Not long now.. Looking forward to reviews on the X !!

Yeah noticed that when I ran GPU-Z 1 hour ago said there is new update then launch new version to see GTX 970 ROP count corrected and checked GPU-Z database to see if it already corrected. Saw Titan X at the top of list, I checked it has released date 17 March 2015 and launch price $999. That £812.98 after exchange rate, guess it between £799 and £849.
