nVidia announce the Titan X at GDC 2015

Difference being I'm a Nvidia fanboi, there's no substance except I noticed a random site with 1gb generic video card priced at £1425.00 but it means nothing like 90% of the facts /rumours posted on this forum =p

I have a question hopefully someone can answer.

I currently have three swifts and have been waiting for a large VRAM card for sometime now.

Im pretty sure the titan x is incoming but I was wondering if there were clocked ones and stock clock cards which would be the best if I wanted to keep them on air.

Also can you use a 3 x sli connector to link up two cards so I can have an air gap between them.

Many Thanks

Oh I will probably be getting two depending on the price

For 3 Swifts, a pair of these will help nicely and a nice set-up bud.

You can get 3 way connectors as well but not sure on the gap. The cards will downclock if they get too hot but it would be really minimal and wouldn't notice in real world gaming.

That's awesome I have a Rampage V as was planning on using the 3 x SLI bridge so I can create a gap.

I did have 3 x 780 windforces and they ran way too hot so Im keen on the gap.

Pretty sure ref coolers will be better

Thanks btw :D two of the swifts have been sitting there doin nowt for 6 months lol cant wait for Hardline in surround :D

Is it worth upgrading to titan x's?
Primarily for gaming in 4k with maxed out settings).
Or shall I finally make a conversion to AMD with the 390x's.??

Thats an impossible question, Firstly the Titan X is a REAL card , The 390X is an imaginary card for all intents and purposes.

Right, having looked for more solid info on DX12 tiers and what is what, I am still clueless. Some are saying that MS have lowered the DX12_3 spec because nVidia paid them to do it  Some are saying that GCN has been downgraded but there is no actual facts on GCN being fully supportive of all DX12 components (it should with AMD being in the Xbone) or Maxwell being fully supportive of all DX12 components, so gawd knows.

Some good comments in there but doesn't really answer anything. Worth a read for those interested :)

I hope TX is fully DX12 compliant but if not, that will be a downer.

They'd be screwing themselves over as well though wouldn't they, their Xbone.
