Guys, just wanted to come on here to say that my wife of nearly 30 years (From when we first met) has found a lump in her breast!!

Been to doctor last week and he was quiet bemused and has referred her to a specialist. We have to wait just over 2 weeks to see a specialist at our local hospital. Such a worrying time!! My wife is so strong. I am very weak. I am so worried about what the outcome might be!!

Please keep my wife in your thoughts etc. We have an appointment on the 7th April.

Good luck. Get it seen to immediately. Don't accept any delays. Pay for any treatment if it gets it looked at faster. If it is indeed a tumour then breast cancer is very treatable if done so early but less so if left for too long (my sister in law had it).

Best of luck.

She is in my thoughts, but remember that there is the definite possibility that it's not what you think it is, and something more benign.

It's the waiting and not knowing that's the hardest part. I was referred by my doctor and had an MRI last week and am now waiting for the results. Good luck.

You're not weak. If your belief is science and doctors is as strong as your belief in God, then she'll be fine.

The quality of medical care for cancer patients in this country is fantastic. My mother survived cancer; she had her all clear last week actually.

Best of luck to you both, and trust the doctors!

I know exactly how you feel. Hopefully you will have the same outcome as I have and everything turns out to be benign. Good luck and you're not weak, worry is not weakness.

It could be anything, may not even be cancerous. Just remember even if it is cancerous, it isn't a death sentence, treatments for this have improved remarkably in the past few years, so try not to worry about it too much.

I don't get the whole "Please keep my wife in your thoughts" comment, but I hope it goes well for you.

Best wishes to you and your wife. When my wife went through a similar situation the doctor referred her to a one stop breast clinic. Under those guidelines (not sure what applies now) she would have to be seen within two weeks and on the day a mammogram, ultrasound and surgical procedure (if needed) would be done for a typical on the day diagnosis.

Try and ensure that such a facility / option is available for your wife and that it it not "just" an appointment with a specialist for then a further appointment to be made for the above.

My wife is also very very positively minded and strong and remained so throughout her treatment, it is just me who didn't do too well.

Again best wishes and do not go OTT with Google.

I have now found your thread, apologies for missing it - not sure how I did.

Great outcome for you and it must be a massive sense of relief for both yourself and your family.
