Jeremy Clarkson suspended from BBC

One-off, providing you ignore all these....

Out of those;

Dog one is a non-story, hardly racist.

One show public sector one also a non-story - in context he said 'we are on the BBC so should not be bias another view would be public sector strikers should be taken outside and executed infront of their families' clearly a joke.

Calling Brown a one eyed idiot... (who even complained about this?!?!)

In fact I am bored now... anyone who was offended by these (besides the lorry driver (bad taste) and the disabled parking one) should look at themselves.

Hopefully not.

It's common however in the industry. If it's true he refused any offer of apology from Clarkson and even refused to listen to him, then other "stars" will see that as difficult and while he might be moved about first, I suspect that his career is now stalled.

It's a shame, but it's the reality.

It appears that the sustatined argument and punch is the true story then, in that case its right he was fired.

Hope the three sign up to Netflix, I'm not paying for Sky :(

It's not even that, if I'm offended by what someone says on TV, do you know what I do? I either turn the TV off or change the damn channel.

I wasn't offended by any of them but could perhaps understand why people would be about the two I mentioned.

Agree with you though, to be offended is one thing. To be offended and ring up and complain takes someone special.

Do we have any special people here who phoned up and complained about Top Gear or Clarkson at any point?

Personally I'm gutted, but I don't think the BBC had any real choice here even if Oisin Tymon had put out a statement saying he'd forgiven, forgotten and was best of mates with JC again.

As Josh alluded to earlier in the thread "And on that bombshell"

In many ways this show was simmering to some form of explosive termination and at least it didn't just dryup and run out of ideas.

Indeed. He's made a rod for his own back. How he's survived this long in the industry I don't know.

Now okay, having this sort of altercation with someone is not what one would expect at work (and you shouldn't have to put up with it if it is a regular occurrence). I do think a lot of the injuries have been grossly exaggerated by the BBC. Nonetheless, you go to work without expecting to have that sort of behaviour shoved onto you, but then again you can behave like a little girl about it, or just sort it out properly. I feel that he's done the little girl approach - I may be wrong.

However I feel this has been handled pretty badly and has been a mountain made out of a molehill.

JC will bounce back and he will still continue to have his followers of millions (I'll be one of them). I have no doubt he's an unpleasant person if you get on the wrong side of him and bullies need to be stood up to (of this I am in entire agreement). However, I still enjoy his books, columns and his tv appearances and will continue to support and enjoy his behaviour in those.

All his alleged transgressions have been overly dramatised and exaggerated by apologists and those seeking to find offence where none existed - so it makes it hard to believe any of the guff that the BBC say - not that they're a particularly trustworthy source of information anyway.

Hopefully not.

Why do you 'hope' that someone who was verbally and physically abused loses his job soon over it?

It was Clarkson, not Tymon, who informed the 'BBC bosses' of what had happened.

Irrelevant of what I personally think of Clarkson, you cannot verbally berate your boss and then physically assault them and expect things to be fine and dandy.

It may not happen but I do hope the 3 of them make another car show on another channel. I've watched enough episodes of TG on Dave to not care about adverts, that's what recording for 20 mins before viewing and fast forward is for.

Yes and I just reiterated that?

Many posts on here including this one have overly exaggerated Oisin Tymon's "transgressions" whatever they are supposed to be.

Well I have two tickets for the top gear live show in London o2 arena in November, If Clarkson isnt part of it now, I want my money back!

Why, when Castiel posted that he does not think Tymon will be working at the BBC much longer, did you say 'hopefully not'?

Like, on what planet has he done anything wrong? Why does he deserve to lose his job (that you hope happens) over being verbally and physically abused?

He didn't book a suitable place that served steak in the evening. Clarkson had the right to be angry.
