Hey guys just wanted to create the thread to get your views on this monitor.

Originally it was suppose to be 120hz Adaptive Sync monitor but looks like ASUS has managed 144hz out of it and got FreeSync compabaility.

More information about this can be found here http://www.sweclockers.com/nyhet/20...ps-panel-och-144-hz-utrustas-med-amd-freesync (Might need to Google Translate)

This is the screen ? http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/asus-mg279q-27-120hz-ips-panel-gets-vrr.html

Im in the market for a 1440p 144hz screen this year, dont care if its Freesync or G-Sync, in peoples opinion will an IPS screen with these kinda stats be any good? im a relative monitor noob in all honesty, i currently have a 1080p 60hz screen running on my 290p but im looking at upgrading this year to either the 390X or the 980ti (if it is ever made) and running a 1440p 144hz screen.

I hear people rave about IPS screens, so is this monitor going to be decent?

Lets hope so. I wouldn't buy any monitor until TFTcentral or some other similarly reputable site reviews it though.

The reason I am so excited about it is because I get the best of both worlds. As a graphic Designer I ideally need IPS 8/10Bit displays but as a gamer these types of Display can have a lot of lag.

For me this would basically be a Asus PB278QR with FreeSync/144hz refresh rates (Brilliant!)

Current official estimate is early to mid May, but in terms of actually hitting UK retailers PCM2 might not be far off.
