CLOCKS FORWARD this weekend !

NOPE.

Love BST. It's great for 9-5 workers as you feel like you've got a nice bit of the day left when you leave work. Nothing beats leaving work when the suns shining and its warm, knowing that you can get back and have a relaxing beer in the garden for an hour or two.

So why do you want to leave it on GMT?

I was going to point that out too. Were on GMT now, for lighter evenings all year youd want to be on BST all the time.

I'd like that tbh, although would it mean its still dark at 9am in the depth of Winter?

In this day and age, we should just leave it at GMT all year round.

If were going to scrap shifting our clocks twice a year (which I agree is sensible), I'd rather we did it and stuck with BST.

Sticking with GMT would mean at the height of summer, sunrise would be about 3.45AM, and sunset, about 8.20PM. I would say the majority of the populace would rather have it staying lighter later, than getting light 2-3 hours before most are even waking up.

Don't get me wrong, as an early riser, I do like light mornings, but I much prefer lighter evenings.

I would love double summer time, it worked during WWII, I recall my late grandfather telling me about playing football at 11pm in July!

Sure the Scottish wouldn't like it, they could have their own time if it was such an issue, I'd reckon they wouldn't though.

Agreed. I'm a morning person and love getting up early and getting on with my day - but I think GMT all year round would be OTT.
