A friend has asked me to help building his new pc, so before doing anything I need some advice.

He already has a monitor and a new SSD he got last week, as well as SO and all the peripherals.

The case has to be the NZXT Phantom 410 black, it's the only thing that is not negotiable for him.

I thought that something like this would be fine

YOUR BASKET
1 x NZXT Phantom 410 Enthusiast Midi Tower Case - Black £72.95
1 x Gigabyte Z97P-D3 Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £63.95
1 x Intel Pentium K Anniversary G3258 Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £59.99
1 x Kingston HyperX Savage Red 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit (HX324C11SRK2/8) £46.99
1 x EVGA 500W 80 Plus Power Supply (100-W1-0500-KR) £39.95
Total : £298.82 (includes shipping : £12.50).

The only thing I'm not entirely sure is the GPU. I saw today a R9 270X B Grade for £80 that looked really great, but it turns out it would be to big for the case (308mm, and the case fits up to 305mm).

So, what GPU would you recommend for £100? And would you do any change in the previous build? (Obviously the PSU might have to be changed, depending on the GPU). Perhaps he could go a bit over the budget, but it would have to be really worth it, as wants to keep the cost as low as possible.

There's nothing you can really change tbh (at most you can save 20 quid on the mobo by going with an H81). He's paying way too much for the case but if that's what he wants then that's what he wants. At least it's a good case and can be re-used for a few years at the very least.

All you can do now is try and find a 270x at a decent price or have him increase his budget for a 285.
