Hey, does anyone know when the release date for the gigabyte p34k V3 is by any chance?

Really want a new laptop and been looking at the p34G V2 as the p34W V3 is ever so slightly outside my price range plus the throttling issues put me off a little.

Thanks in advance :)

Thanks! Ye it seems the only country selling them right now is Australia, hopefully it's just a delay and they still plan on releasing them in the UK

Yeah I've seen it on those australian sites.

Also interested, because of the throttling/heat/power issues on the W version. It can't be too long now, surely.

Anyone know if we can get Atoms attention in this thread somehow? Seems like he would have the most knowledge on this matter at this point

Atom is here, sorry guys and girls !

From reading the threads, yes we were planning full range of GPUs in the P34 chassis, but this changed slightly for the UK and we decided to launch the GTX970M version first.

We will discuss with OcUK and look at brining in some with the GTX965m GPU (P34K)

If you want this GPU, what other configuration would you want to see, ie ram / ssd / hdd,,,?????

Let us know and we can design accordingly.

I think either one of:

1) 970M, 256GB msata, no hdd, 16GB ram.
2) 965M, 256GB msata, no hdd, 16GB ram.

What about with 512GB SSD if no HDD?

That could also be an option.

I wonder if in a future version of these ultrabooks that gigabyte might consider removing the 2.5" hdd slot entirely and going with only msata/M.2 storage - and instead, extend the battery along the full front of the internal compartment.

If they could squeeze two msata/M.2 slots on a future board, then this would seem logical given the increasing capacity and falling prices of ssds.

And it could provide a huge boost to battery life with a physically larger space to house it.

Personally, the inclusion of a hdd in this kind of niche performance laptop is a shame. And the 128GB ssd is too small, so I would hope to see 256GB minimum in the future.

Hope that is useful feedback. :)

Hey thanks for the reply :)
I was thinking of a 128GB SSD and either 8 or 16GB RAM. A HDD of at least 512GB would be nice too, 1TB preferable. The 512GB SSD sounds awesome but there is just no way I could afford it (university student).

The big thing with the P34 is how good will the cooling be? Since its pretty small is it going to be roasting?

I wasn't aware Gigabyte did made to order models ;)
