NEW Photography show, 21st -24th March

I don't get the people that take their camera (or even multiple cameras), and parade round like they are a pros, they just get in the way so much when its crowded!

Never been, but I assumed at least part of the point of the show were live events for you try new techniques etc?

Not sure whether to go or not. Thick end of £30 with parking.

Just got back. Good day out, enjoyed it. Saw a few good talks, chatted with quite a few people on stands, including meeting StewartR from LensesForHire (don't think they're a competitor! :p). Bought a cheap reflector and a new bag but managed to keep clear of the Canon stand as they were doing double-cashback as last year. Very worth it if you're after a 6D or 5D3 as these were down to £999 and £1699 respectively after the double-cashback is taken into account.

Recommend it for any keen photographers :)

I went today too.
If you are primarily going as a Nikon buyer then I wouldn't bother. My money stayed in my wallet. Prices are the same as in-store and they are really pushing loads of refurbished stock which wasn't a bargain when you take into account the cashback and better warranty on new in most cases.
As said, Canon is a different story with better discounts & double cashback.

I went today!

it was a good show and really enjoyed it.

Bought a few bits nothing much as iam pretty much kitted out.

bit dissapointed with the Sigma stand looked cheap and tacky, some good live demonstrations where on.

Got a first hand look and feel of the nikon d4s which i have now ordered.

Joined the SWPP as i am getting more and more into wedding photography.

Overall i would recommend going :D

I was there on Saturday and purchase a few items which on could put on willy waving thread,..lol

Next door was Comic Con with some people dressed up in some great outfits !
Should have gone to that as well,..lol

I went on Saturday, was nice to have a play with some nice kit without a paranoid shop assistant looming over you :)

On another note I had a play with the new 5DS and caused the canon guy to foam at the mouth when I asked about it's dynamic range......I was amazed how easily he started foaming with what I thought was a fairly straight forward question :p

Did anyone whose been notice if Fuji have any better offers on the x series there, than the standard cash back retailers are currently offering?

The X-Pro 1 was £599 inc 18mm f2, 27mm f2.8, NPW126 Battery and LCX-Pro Case.

The X-T1 Body was £699 after a £100 cash back
The X-T1 & 18-55mm was £899 after a £100 cash back

Thanks Jase. Sounds like 100 less than usual on the body.

I didn't get to go at the weekend as wasn't feeling well but think I might have bought an x-t1 or x100 had I gone.

Did you notice any offers on the x100t?

I wasn't really looking to be honest but happened to pick up a leaflet with the prices that I listed above.

A shame you couldn't make it, it was a good show and actually some really good prices.

Yep, after cashback is redeemed, £1699 for a brand new UK retail 5D3. Total steal.

Didn't bother taking a camera this year as it just gets in the way and there's not that much of interest to take pictures of really. Had I known ComicCon was on next door I'd have done so :)

I only took a point and shoot just to take pics of offers or any ideas for the future.
Again if I had know about comic Con I would taken my DSLR, got a ticket and gone in next door to Comic Con.
Even out side the hall some of the out fits were bl**dy amazing....;)

The Comic Con was awesome, definitely hoping it's on at the same time again next year.

Many of them are just sad cases wanting to take pics of the models :)

On a more serious note, I take mine as the nice people on the Canon stand will often let you mount their demo lenses on your own body to try out.

Was kinda funny seeing all the amateurs setting off the flashes on stage, don't know why the guy there had the optical sensor on.
