I just got into a round of COD: AW multiplayer and while I was playing, I hear a big boom and my screen goes off.

Low and behold smoke smell so I turn off the pc quickly from the PSU. No visible burn marks on PCI-E slots and the PC is now booted with another GPU. (nothing strange happening ATM)

Is this RMA material or is it a user error ?

The card has been fine for the last week or so.

Im not laughing to be honest anyway its probably me just stressing out about the card.

there is a piece on the back of the pcb that looks blacker (burnt) nothing else I can see.

Let me take a picture and upload it now

Unless you have overvolted or done something else stupid like spill water on it then it should be covered. OCUK are very good about this sort of thing so just get in touch with them (assuming you bought it here).

To be honest, i wouldn't be happy or laughing either if it was my card.

I wouldn't stand for it myself, i would want at least 3 back for my trouble and mental trauma.

Oh and a boat load of Haribo.

here is a close-up of the cards problem
