High demand for Titan X exceed supply

THAT ^^^

Who needs go faster lights and a tacky backplate to trap heat.

I think you have misquoted the guy, his point was that the TX should be more bespoke and that's not just about a fancy box (gtx 690 Anyone?) it's about enhanced power regulation, a bios you don't need to invalidate your warranty to get at the card proper, the software to go with all of that and dare I say it: a far better air cooler.

the examples he used grant you those things, instead we get a mass produced looking thing.

I want 144fps@1440p with gsync so it's only a matter of time for me to upgrade again to the TX but yeah, an opportunity missed by Nvidia in some respects.

Its a completely pointless comparison, this is a PC hardware forum, bragging about a holiday home is irrelevant (and no, I'm not mad, you are bragging at completely the wrong person lol)

My enthusiast setup is=TX, it wasn't bragging it was humour directed at your tile comment to diffuse your snipe, rather than getting all heat up about it and flaming with more jibes.

What is funny about Andy's comments is that he also got completely out of his tree about the original titans and then wound up buying them anyway

Because he can purchase them, which gives him as much right to kick the **** out of N's pricing policy as any other T owner that wants to defend N's pricing policy.

Any way, I only originally tried to help diffuse the situation that started, I'll leave you all to fight among yourself now.:)

Do people realise with 8gb of HBM on the 390X and an AIO cooler we could be looking at a very steep price for the card which could even make the 12gb TX look like it is priced reasonably.

That shows that the demand is there anyways and no idea how many Gibbo has flogged but I am sure it is quite a few judging by the people here.

I think the last time Gibbo said, it was well over 200 units.

I have just checked a few other retailers and they are also out of stock so the cards are selling well.

every other site is like this, pre-order only

think only 3% of the retailers got units.. the rest still haven't

:p

I will wade in here and say that there are some of us, (myself included), who bought the TX to get away from the grief of SLI. I've been waiting for such a card for a while now. In fact my TX, with a slight overclock, now out performs my 2 X 780's.

Personally I hope Nvidia are limiting production of these cards as the resale value might be favourable in a year to 18 months. Though if Pascal is as good as is being touted, (and I doubt that too!!), then maybe not. For now though I am very very happy with my purchase.

It was a bonus too that I sold my 780's for just under £500. That eased the TX pain somewhat!

So now the thread has gone from "High demand for TX exceeds supply" to "My computer is equal to a TX"....LMFAO :D

Ohhh and chuck in a holiday home for good measure :p

loads of ppl i know have bought a TX
nearly all of them didnt need a TX
and none of them are rich

so yeh demand is there no question
i think this may be the norm for flagship pricing too as much as people hate that thought!?

I can't imagine it coming in over £600, a £300 price difference - as it stands.

People were buying £500-600 cards 10 years ago it's not exactly surprising that £800-1000 cards sell well today.

For the majority of people buying this is their only expensive hobby so spending £800 isn't a lot when you think how much others spend on their expensive hobbies/hobby. Some people I know can spend that on clothes as soon as they get paid. Tell me who's the one trying to really show off between buying a £800 GPU which barely anyone will see or buying clothes with a designer label to try and impress women.

No, I'm getting jibes/baiting comments directed at me for innocently trying to diffuse a situation.:(

The bit that is worrying me with cost is the HBM memory, it was rumoured to use 4gb which would have been expensive with new tech but now they seem to have gone with 8gb which is really pushing this new tech and could really up the price.

Nevermind all this bickering, when are they due back in stock ya fools :)? Probably one for the management but in case it's already been mentioned somewhere, do tell.
