It's remarkable how, following the end of the most recent Iron Banner week, the number of people playing Destiny has plummeted from our usual XBone group (myself included). Bring on the next IB / DLC...

Nothing to do with IB but to do with people have gotten bored of doing the same thing multiple times every week.
Completed about 100 VOG raids now and I'm sick of doing it. First it was hard, then it was fun, now it's boring.
Same with Crota, first it was hard, then it was fun, now it's boring.
NF with no burn - just to get shards please.
The game has lost it's mojo they need to release the next DLC right now. A few of us have jumped over to GTA online. I also have killzone, tomb raider, driveclub and tlou on my backlog to play.
This is basically it. It's too long of a gap with too little to do. They should have really done the two planned DLC's and then a third unplanned one before the next large installment around august-october time.
Indeed I know it's not IB related, rather the absence of that has let people float away. I know that on the Xbox side, everyone was having a great time playing IB as a change from easily running all of the raids/NFs, and the normal crucible doesn't quite cut it (no decent gear drops, etc)
Not the end of the world if people play other games for a while, I'm enjoying catching up on other stuff that got neglected since Destiny came out.

Yeah, it's definitey the lack of gear drops for me. I'd like to think I play the game just for the fun of it, and I do - I actually really enjoy the game - but without anything to achieve, I'd rather play something else. I'm taking this time to play GTA5 along with other games that I've not touched over the last 6 months or so.
I have every exotic weapon and all the weapons from CE. At the moment, I'm doing the easy bounties each day to max out the few exotics that I've not levelled up (Pocket Infinity, No Land Beyond etc).
What would bring me back is if Bungie upgraded VoG with the v1.1.2 patch next week. Now would be the perfect time for it, just as people are starting to drift away, have VoG drop 331 weapons and 36 light gear. I'd be back in there to get a new Fatebringer. I'll also be back for the next IB as I had a lot of fun during the last one. I'm hoping there will be a few of the Xbox guys back for that too.

I think you can get a two weeks free Ps+ trial so you could give that a go and see if you think it's worth it upgrading.
Just checked my Destiny case and it has a 1 month free access code in that too, have they stopped giving that away with the game?
Fatebringer would be the reason I'll be back to do VoG.
Right now, I'm happy to drop off till HoW as Borderlands (More RNG than Destiny!!) and Neverwinter (MMO WoW FTP FTW!) is filling up my time just fine.
I know what you mean mate. I'm using this lull as a chance to recharge my Destiny batteries while playing a few other things, picked up the Metro Redux double pack for £8 for the PC and Far Cry 4 for £25 for the XB1 the other day, that should keep me going while still doing the NF's and a few raids a week.
Played Borderlands 1 and 2 solo on my PC and really enjoyed them, if people are playing on the XB then I may grab it as never co-op'd it and think it would be a riot.
Still on the hunt for the Vex, Gjallerhorn, need to do the Thorn bounty then I'm all stocked up on Exotic weapons.

Damn wish I had seen this earlier! If anyone is still up for it I need to get it done.
If anyone is on tonight and needs a hand with a NF/WH then give me a shout. I will be on to help the Mrs with her last NF (only a level 28 hunter so *should* be interesting..) and then probably grinding some strikes for Toland's legacy.
