***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

Got my 290X yesterday to replace a HD6870. It runs this game beautifully - think I'll grab a decent monitor to compliment it as this one only goes to 1050 @ 60Hz. I would prefer 1080p @ 144Hz!

Will the stock market ever be available online? Would be a great way to make a few billion :D
 
So I did the tutorial for online, had to fetch some drugs, wife was bleating so I may have missed the instructions, but I chased some car across what must have been the entire map and I could not stop it, was ramming it for about 30 minutes, gave up in the end.......had best read that text next time....:p

I am about 11% into the single player and the stock market became available from an email from Lester just after you start planning your first heist. I bought a few shares to see how it goes :p

I'm not sure on the bench marks but I dont think a 290x will give you 144FPS with everthing on high. My 290 performs very well, but it isn't running it at 120FPS. Btw - my 290 seems to perform better if I set games/monitor to 120hz mode (obviously!) and it is still nice and smooth. I remember reading somewhere that AMD cards are geared towards 120hz but I dont know if that is true.

Kill the driver, he drops the drugs in the road. You pick them up and take them to a guy a few miles away. Hold down right mouse button and your crosshair will appear, shoot him through the windows. Also, it helps if you jack a fast car/bike :)

Would help if I had a gun.....appear to have lost it when I accidentally got in a shoot out with some dudes....... :p
 
guys maybe you know how to fix the problem i have steam version but steam overlay doesn't work ? like hift +tab friends messaging i have to tab out of the game witch is a unnecessary hassle.

I am sure there is a way you could backup the core files from the game folder onto a HDD and copy them back in somehow when you need to. You would have to google it though as there may be issues with the registry and encryption. I am pretty sure it must be possible though.

I ended up joining two heists yesterday that went really pear shaped. 1st one I was picked as the pilot. Insta-FAIL right there. Second I had no idea where to go. Do you only get the yellow line to follow in easy mode?

A big thank you to vintage-x for stealing last place from me in the races after Sidewinder left! :D

I hope you didn't need to parachute out the jet :D

A good tip if there isn't already a way point; hit M to bring up the interactive menu then go down to "set waypoint" (or something like that) and use the left and right arrow keys to select the objective you can do this while driving. Also works in freeroam with apparment, ammo etc.
