***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

If I want to move this installed from HDD to SDD, same PC etc, will it just work (simply click and drag)? Or will it be funny like an origin game? Non-Steam btw (was installed from retail disc).

Just found a HUGE reddit thread about GTA Online and the issues with the lobbys.

Here.

Hopefully with any luck R* will get onboard and fix it!

So glad this is getting some publicity.

We tried a couple of games last night, and unless you get absolutely everything in alignment you're pinged out on to another server. If the load times were quick, it wouldn't be too much of a hardship but you feel like you're punished for not going back in to free roam after a couple of matches.

Trying to get on a job together (save for heists) is a royal pain, but I doubt they're going to do anything to fix it short of redesigning the whole matchmaking mechanic. :(

I remember they had problems WAYYY back when Online launched on the PS3, so much so that they gave gave out massive in-game pay-outs to everyone as an apology. Seems strange to me they STILL haven't got it running smoothly after all this time!? Servers are servers after all!!

So, I downloaded this last night and went to play it now and all my textures are blacked out. Opened R* Social Club and it's downloading the entire 60GB again. Any help?

EDIT: Ignore, fixed it.

Is anyone using the app?

Are people maxing out their VRAM? My usage is just under 3GB but I get the impression if I crank* up the remaining settings to get closer to the maximum 4GB available, it will be at the sacrifice of FPS (running @ 1440p).

*Only played for 30 minutes and not played much with the settings.

Stuff the payouts, just fix it. Add more missions if they want to say sorry. :D

Having bought my lavish apartment and loads of stuff I think getting the online cash bonus has detracted from things somewhat. Kinda wish I didn't get it now.

We managed to get a 13 person race going last night in a private lobby. Playlist for the race ended, 6 of us were in one server, 3 in another and so on.

They need something like Battlelog for BF4 - there are too many options, to many bugs and too much faffing around!

Something like that would be good, or just a means of keeping players together would be a good start.

Also, I had a problem yesterday where I lost connection to a game mid deathmatch only to be told that when it eventually loaded me back in that what I had done was "bad form" and if I carried on doing "that" I'd be blacklisted and made to play with the naughty players.

So got that to contend with as well, drop outs that aren't you fault count towards your form and could end up ruining your online experience. Nice.

Hi all , was playing this for a few hours yesterday, the graphics are amazing

AMD 8350 @ 4.4ghz
MSI 290 OC Gaming edition
8GB 1866mhz ddr 3

running @ 1080p , have all settings on very high to high, it actually was already set up for me, i just changed MSAA to 2X, with it on or off i get same performance, im getting average 55fps does hit 60fps well, but i do see stuttering when turning fast or spinning on one spot, drops to 40 fps

just think the cause is my AMD CPU and not the graphics card, would love to buy a intel i7, but with skylake coming soon is it worth to just wait ?

Thanks

I use this www.traynier.com/software/steammover for all my Steam games, it's nice and simple however I haven't used it with GTA though (no space).

No install required, nice and simple UI and seems to work well with good reviews too :)

So it takes 3 hands to fly Buzzard solo? Keyboard, Numpad and Mouse to fire?

You can shoot with the space bar as well, or just remap the keys like I have. I use A + D to tilt left and right, W+S for altitude, Q+E for rotating and Mouse 4+5 for leaning forwards and backwards. Works smooth as f and makes shooting a doddle (in helis at least)

Thanks for the hiest run last night it was a good laugh :D

Feel free to add me on Steam (http://steamcommunity.com/id/tbwmaxi) as it might be easier to setup other matches in the future if you want to join in, the Rockstar Social stuff isn't great about telling you if I have invited someone or not so sorry if you got like 30 invites from me last night :p

Also we are usually on mumble or something if you wan't to join on voice comms or at least listen to the rage of us all failing.

Yeah it was good fun! :D

I'll charge my headset up and jump on Mumble next time, add you to Steam in a bit too. :)

No need for any software anymore, steam supports multiple install locations out of the box. Just make a folder on whatever drive you want, tell steam where the new folder is it has to look in and drag the folder over. Steam will then ask which location you want to install any new games in the future as well.
