***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

Was talking to Tony last night, he has played around with his settings.

Tested them out this morning, they work very well.

FXAA on, PostFX on, DOF on, MSAA off, VSYNC on, with these settings on my 780 I was getting a steady 60fps @ 1080p.

I added MSAAx2 as I could see some jaggies, still getting a solid 60.

Josh is happy!

Loading is definitely down to the increased server loads, will be particularly bad this weekend as it's the first one since launch.

I played yesterday morning and everything was so fast and there was no desyncing on servers with people warping around.

That's the same settings I'm using on my GTX 780 minus MSAA at 1440p. 60 fps in the city and some dips in in thick grass.

Turn MFAA on, for extra MSAA for free!

Those are pretty much the settings Im using. I have adaptive vsynch on tho as it's better than just vanilla vsynch.

It's a grey area he probably means.

It's not questionable but there's always a slight risk the publisher could deactivate all the keys

This , sorry for not being more specific . Keys have been lopped befor , and it only takes a publisher to realises how much potential revenue there loosing for them to go all ubisoft on people . Not saying they operate illegaly , but I wouldn't risk my pennies personally , again that's not to say people won't have any issues period

I am messing about with my settings again and for some reason, a lot of the stuff seems to make no difference to my FPS i.e. if I put draw distance right down, the fps stays at about 50

What is your postfx set to, normal, high, ultra?

I can't stand DOF or motion blur, it always gets turned off in every game.

The 3 settings, which seem to have the biggest impact for me so far are grass, shadows and MSAA.

FXAA does reduce the jaggies but, I find it adds a bit too much of a blurry/smudgy look.

Also got vsync on otherwise I get AWFUL screen tear :(

Just played a decent bit of the SP there, so much fun, love Mike :D I am not bothering with M+KB at all now, more relaxing and easier to just use my 360 controller.

I have an i5 750 as well but clocked at 4ghz and its the same for me, graphical settings make little to no difference at all and FPS is just stuck around 50-60.

Pretty much agree with all of the above so cba to type it all again, just yes especially to last bit.

FXAA does infact make it a little more blurry, but for me at 1440p, 4xmsaa does cause my frames to be a little erratic, even with 2 cards so I'm now running with 2xmsaa. With VSync off, sometimes I get 100fps, then it'll drop to 70 and the game does seem to have a pacing issue when it does this. So against my want last night on this 144hz screen, I decided to turn on Vsync to 60fps (cant hold 120fps or else I would have choose that) whacked every graphic setting to Very High, even grass. Also running with Ultra Post FX and maximum DOF but no motion blur. Getting an absolutely gorgeous experience and 100% locked at 60fps which is making the game run so flawlessly, no stutter, texture issues, its the perfect setting for me. I can use 4xmsaa but in places I've seen small artifacts, and 4xmsaa at 1440p pushes my VRAM to the ceiling. I honestly cant see the difference between 2xmsaa and 4xmsaa at 1440p.

DOF is not strong in this game, but it does give the scenery a certain nice look.

And ignore Moogleys blatant console fanboyism, he has a history of downplaying the difference in machines. To think there is very little difference in the two is complete trolling fanboyism at it's finest. If you have a system in your house that gives you that impression, then I really think it's time you upgraded that 6 year old PC Moogleys :)
