Assuming he means quick detailer, I use Chemical Guy's Speed Wipe.

Sounds like a toilet duty appendix :D

"QD" is a non event for me, I get whatever, it's not like it has to do anything special, just adequately lube up the drying water so the towel can deal with it :)

Quick detailer is really worth it IMO after washing, a good one will increase the life of your wax before it needs to be re-applied and also helps remove water marks.

I guess as long as it's not a 99p store special then yeah. I've used countless ones over the years and really none of them have done anything different over each other and the price has ranged from a fiver to £16 per bottle. I've always used the same wax though and it's always lasted the same length of time throughout. I always gently wipe after spraying on quick detailer, just enough so water marks go away.

Sonax has really impressed me the past few times I've used it. Excellent in fact but it does go on thicker than a quick detailer.

anyone ever cleaned an engine bay?

ive just topped my washer fluid up and noticed oil splattered deep down in the engine bay, i know i have a small leak which will be fixed soon. once it is i want to clean it up. car is an e92 330i, there didn't look like much room to work, is it something that would best be left to a professional?

how much does a engine bay clean cost?

im one for washing my car but if its going to be difficult i would much rather pay someone :p

Anything more than a good rub with a cloth I would avoid. I wouldn't like to introduce water or any amount of liquids to my engine bay.

This car ive bought is stinking of fags....

What is the best thing to try get rid of the smell? Something that doesn't cost arm and a leg please. :)

I used this

http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/shop/odor-rescue-vehicle-interior-deodorizing-single-kit.html

I should have done it overnight though, as I did it on a sunny day and I don't think it worked as well as it could have.

You can still smell a faint smell of fags on hot days when the car's been sitting in the sun, but it's not that bad.
Honestly though, I think it's impossible to remove all traces of cigarette smell from a car. I know I'll be more careful in future, especially considering I have a very strong sense of smell :(

Can't remember who posted it in this thread...I think pepsilol (?) used stripper scent.

It would go well with your naff ford I reckon. :p
