***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

Think ive found my sweet spot now for graphics/performance getting a between 60-80fps depending on where i am and time of day (higher fps at night) only time i drop below 60 is when i go into the woods for hunting then i drop to the 40s (will probably mess about once i get around to OC'ing my cpu/gpu)

Right messed with my settings again:

- game looks really bad without MSAA imo, so jaggy so got 2x on now
- postfx set to high
- shadow set to high
- grass to very high
- FXaa turned off, too blurry
- high detail streaming whole flying set to on

Everything else set to max except no reflection MSAA and it runs smooth enough for my liking.

Steam overlay is working now, awesome. Saves me getting logged out of online everytime I had to alt+tab into the web browser. Need to get my headset & teamspeak sorted though, keeps playing voice chat through my speakers not the headset, plus it seems stuck on push to talk rather than voice detection. I've tried changing/resetting settings through teamspeak but it doesn't seem to make a difference, probably needs a wipe and reinstall.

My time with gta v so far since release has mainly been quick goes between trying to get the game to run perfectly. Finally achieved it tonight
4670k @4.3
7990 no oc
16gb of ram
normal hdd

So i kept getting the lagging thing thats quite common, turns out i was maxing the cpu out on nearly any settings i tried, was running with most things set on normal. The thing that has saved me is the vsync half option.
Now running on vsync half and everything is working so much better cpu only hitting 90% when driving at high speed
everything else on very high
msaa - x4
fxaa - on
reflection msaa - x8
shadows only on soft
post fx - ultra
anisotropic filtering - x16
ambient occlusion - normal
Tessellation - Very high
everything else on very high

Basically if you struggled try the vsync at half!
Sorry for the long message im just so so glad my system is running this game so well now!

Wow! Just installed my GTX 970 and the game runs butter smooth with sugar on top.

Locked at 60FPS.

I didn't touch any settings except for the PostFX set to normal.

He means MSAA and FXAA, reflections MSAA is different iirc and only applies to the reflections off shiny surfaces.

Thanks i never read up on these things, runs a dream either way. So happy i dont have to upgrade anything not even a ssd for the game(have one for operating system only).

I'm not seeing anything like that in the pause menu. It is Print Screen for a screenshot right?

Oh I thought you meant photos taken via the camera in the game.

It is print screen for a screenshot but they wont be saved anywhere normally unless you have something like fraps etc that will save a screenshot in a specified directory.

Just over one day left of my download :D - along with patches and work, assuming all goes to plan, realistically I should be able to play on Wednesday :)

A little concerned about my SSD though - by the time the game has downloaded, and Steam has allocated space for the game, I should have about 70Gb left. Considering this is still the preload edition, I hope that it is enough. Might have to move some files around to achieve the final install though?

Will be on in around an hour if anyone wants to play a little online (I'm not that good :p and relatively a noob). My nickname is HardwarePal (add me so we can crew up) and same screen name with here on teamspeak.

Was waiting a few days to see if this is the real deal in terms of performance before I double dip and it seems to be the case!

Is it worth punting (another) 40 quid at this or should I just hold out for a little longer for a discount? :p
