Worse / most news worthy thing to happen in your street you live in.

Street I live in now is fairly uneventful and nothing happens. Street I grew up in would have been on the news over the years associated with a number of attempted murders/murders, folks associated with killings etc.. Our windows were also blown in when a bomb went off in the building behind our house, that likely made the news (too young at the time to remember that one.) The area would have been on the local news fairly regularly.

Northern Ireland??

For me, back in South Africa is a different story.
Honestly, the street I lived on, I was walking to the beach barefooted as us Safricans did, this guy comes up to me and asks for change. I give him R2 which is about 20p, and then he starts asking me if there is anyone I don't like, anyone I want killed.. So on my street I got a hitman for 20p. Then one early saturday morning after being arrested for being too drunk, yes you can down there, brings them fines, I was walking home at about 5am Saturday, next thing I know I've got a knife across my throat, and this guy drags me into the bushes looking for money which I obviously spent. Took my shirt off, then said 'I'm going to rape you now'.. And me and my instincts, we said '**** no' so I hit Him in the face and ran off, on my road.. All was fine, but a few months before that my brother had a burglar early in the morning with a knife against his back, make him walk around the house getting valuables etc.. My brother lived, although **** scared.. That was OUR street in Africa..
The one here in uk, well no **** all happens, it's actually quite boring

2 events spring to mind

1) My old neighbour committed sucide earlier this year by throwing himself in the sea side of the Haven river and turned up 6-8 weeks later inside the dock.

2) A local heroin dealer by the nickname of "bomber" got caught when the council made some unscheduled updates to his heating system in his flat but whilst they were upgrading the heating system they laced his flat with surveillance cameras and caught him on film dealing including where he stashed his gear and his "orders book".

Comedy thing was his smack head neighbors or his customers used to shout outside his flat "bomber have you got any bread" which usually followed with a cretin sounding "yeah" or "nah". Everyone in the area knew they were talking about heroin lol

To be fair, there are a lot of 'happenings' in the city centre and not too far away, the question asked the street on which you live :p.

Where I live now nothing really noteworthy - a dog and a child got run over rather badly in separate incidents both surviving, a kid got hit in the face by a firework at the display at the local pub once and a bit of a domestic that got an armed police response.

My old road in London someone was stabbed to death in a shop, few nasty car crashes with fatalities and one time some guy walking naked down the middle of the road shooting a shotgun into the air - must have been known to the police as they dealt with it fairly casually.

My old neighbours in London lived in South Africa - moved here for the sake of their kids after coming home to find their neighbours (inside a gated compound) robbed and shot dead IIRC and they'd been robbed too but fortunately not home.

Nothing at all here. Previous address there was a drugs raid a few doors down; my wife got a shock going downstairs in the morning to find a police officer climbing through our garden to get to the rear of their property!
