****The Official The Avengers: Age of Ultron Thread ****

Have to say its not as good as the first one, it is still a thoroughly enjoyable 3 hours, but they didnt quite capture the magic of Avengers Assemble.

I loved it. A lot darker and flows a lot better as a film. Bettany was fantastic though.

Wasn't a fan of the end credit scene, was hoping for something a little bigger. Vision was the best part of film imo.

Saw this today. Not as good as the first, Winter Soldier or Guardians for me but still a good enjoyable film. Would disagree about the flow/pacing of the film and say it felt like a set of scenes stuck together with little fluidity and certain things being shoehorned in.

Still, watching everyone on screen in a new adventure was great fun as always, laughed at a lot of the humour but would say there was a bit too much of it.

My main worry with it, which did sadly come to pass was....

Ultron being a throwaway villain, I knew he would be well voiced with great lines but due to all the stuff thats come out about Civil War and future films you knew Ultron wasn't going to last beyond this film and he didn't.

Also did anyone else think some of the CGI, mainly the opening scene was quite poor?

Well I'm not sure why people aren't impressed, but I watched the marathon last night of Avengers Assemble, Winter Soldier and the Age of Ultron and I loved the new film! By far the most action packed and funny with lots of fan service and cool moments which is exactly what I want from a Marvel flick.

Hated it, slow paced, unfunny, no real substance to the plot, no character depth. It was like some comic fantasists 3 hour epic.

3.5/10 at best if only for the effects and even that had its shoddy moments.

Watched this tonight.

Was pretty good. Too many jokes though and thought they'd do more with Vision after are the hype trying to recover the container thing.

4 years to wait until Infinity Wars Part 1 :(

Hopefully some of the filler movies will be decent :)

I'd love to see Coulson pop up in the films again at some point. It would be tricky to do right but it somehow feels wrong that everyone thinks he is dead. It might work in Civil War.

Personally loved it for the most part.

Only issue I kinda had was Ultron being a little too camp, obviously Loki had his moments but for the most part he's a legitimate threat to the Avengers. Also loved seeing a little backstory on Hawkeye, when you think of trying to fit all those characters into one piece it's pretty tricky

As for the opening scene
Compared to the first Avengers film which was pretty boring? Nahhhhhhh. Kicked off immediately

And finally
Didn't think it was 'too funny' at all, tongue in cheek is what you get with Marvel films! Any scene involving Mjolnir was hilarious

As someone that didnt think much of the first (seriously that **** was overhyped!) this doesnt bode well for me seeing it next week. Joss W cant write **** and I dont know why people think he can - 90% of what he has produced has been utter cack.

Sadly this isn't a patch on the first. Too many attempts at humour (not sure how many times they milked the 'bad language' joke), poor pacing, poorly done villain (ultron was no where near what I expected from the trailers, what a disappointment), boring and nonsensical flashbacks, too many characters, 3d was poor. 6/10 for me, and I feel that's a little generous.

Hawkeye; just get rid of him. Boring and adds nothing to the films. Also, RDJ's seemingly forced extra on screen time (ie not in iron man suit).

Loved the first one by the way. Really did.

Just got in from seeing this.. and absolutely loved it.

I feel, for me personally, this film felt more entertaining than the first for me.. perhaps it was the introduction of the new characters.

I'm not well versed on the whole mythology of the marvel universe, only really know little bits from what I have read both on these forums and around the web in general.

I spent most of this film laughing, smiling and enjoying myself.

I don't take my films seriously.. I just let them do their thing and if I feel entertained then its a winner for me.

I'd recommend seeing it.. I'll probably see it again tbh.

For the record.. there is a post credits scene but NO after credits scene.

Agreed on Ultron being a bit of a let down. Also too many jokes from him kinda annoyed me, was expecting something a lot more menacing.
