**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

Quite the norm for LP users I'm afraid. There seems to be no pattern to all the forum posts etc that I've seen mention wake locks with LP users on the Note.
I had the same wake lock issue in KK. LP doesn't seem to have made it any better or worse - my phone is awake all the time regardless of what I do with it. annoying.

Cache cleared, rooted. Better Battery doesn't reveal any wake lock that's keep it awake constantly. Now I just wonder if the battery power saving page is just buggy or something?

My battery life is all over the place. When I moan about it on here, I get 5-6 hours screen on times and when I am not complaining - I some times get 2-3 hours.

Just checked & theres a 982mb update ready for me at long last :D
However, with work wifi being around 0.5mb I think I'll wait until I get home.......

got an issue with my note 4, its completly standard, but has started freezing and rebooting, sometimes on rebooting, it hangs on the splash screen or it hangs on the three network splash screen.

Now it wont do anything, it just sits on the samsung note 4 splash.

ive done a reboot with up volume home and power and it says could not do normal boot, MMC_read failed, UDC start and is saying downloading do not turn off.

i dont want to lose all my data and photos.

this is my first android phone and have not even looked at rooting etc so not really sure what to do.

any advice please?

2 nights ago, I changed from the BOB4 to newest version on sammobile (btu non vendor specific) and battery life has improved a little, still doesnt last as long as KK did though, did they increase processor speeds or performance tweaks that use more power?

Aren't the pics only safe if you've set up auto backup to the cloud?

Yup you're right though surely most people have their Google backup on, I don't have any of the proprietary cloud storage options such as box or whatever.

After a reset my photo app fills up with all my visual media though my gallery remains empty.

Good advice, though I've never had auto backup for pics switched on, so I'm sure some others are the same?

God this is getting tiring. Different phone (my S4 gave me all sorts of grief near the end of its life, even the new replacement unit) and the same old battery problems. I haven't had a day where bed time would be 10% or less since the first week I got this phone. This is understandable if I am churning 5-6 hours screen on time before bed but it's only on a little over three hours today, I've lost 2% just writing this message (over 10% in about 45 minutes with Power Saving on) on UC Browser. I am beginning to wonder if it an app or group of apps I use. Days like this, the screen is usually 3rd for most power consumed. Android System and Android OS are at the top, I've also noticed even sleeping/idle there has been faster than expected drain. Time for some investigations, really starting to annoy me though - I shouldn't have to constantly fiddle or castrate my phone to get some consistency.

Battery can be hugely affected by where you are.

When I'm at work (in a university) the combination of poor signal and odd wifi activity drains my battery at a rate of around 10% per hour! In these days I'm lucky to get two hours of screen time.

But when I'm in areas of better signal I can get the more typical 5-6+ hours of screen time.

At first I thought it was a faulty device, so I got it exchanged, no difference. Changed my apps, factory resets/data wipes, no difference. Bloody annoying, but doesn't seem to be anything I can do about it sadly!

this x100!
since switching to three from voda my battery life (note 3 not 4 but issue is the same) has been abysmal and thats due to going from a perfect signal to a sometimes there sometimes not signal!
look into that before doing anything too rash

well my note 4 wont even power on now, nothing happens with any of the power on button combinations. Just sent an email to Samsung and will ring Three in the morning when lines open.
