I did try 4.8ghz @ +0.010 but i got a BSOD when launching RealBench. I think it's going to need closer to +0.015 or +0.025 for 4.8-4.9 and going by what I've achived so far, should easily hit 5ghz under water!

5ghz will be great for benching. For gaming use, 4.5 or so will be grand with a pair of original titans, found this to be the case with my old 4770k and 780 sli which is pretty similar to the titans. Then like an eejit I sold that chip and "upgraded" to a 4790k.

haha, yeah I know that feeling. I'm not intending to use anything over 4.7 for general use/gaming, but it would be nice as a "look what mine can do"
I do run mine daily at 4.7, basically as that's the highest I got stable so far. Too lazy to tune it down a bit. But this is my second 4790k and I had an idea of what it was capable of, (swapped my original with Tonester from here and MLG). First one ran a bit warmer and needed slightly more vcore at 4.7.
Is this normal behaviour for the chip?
I was having some stuttering in a game, so fiddled with an app to prevent parking, which I later dispensed with. Just want to make sure this is normal behaviour now...
This is my processor sitting at desktop... Is is normal for half (or more) of the CPUs to be parked?
SO can someone else confirm in Windows 8.1, if they look at their 4790K sitting at desktop (running normally, ie: not overclocked etc), that they can see multiple of their cores parked like mine?

4790K installed, temps seem in line with 4770K but have gained extra speed due to default clock speed at similar temps.
Think that's me set until later next year for CPU / Mobo, when we finally see what AMD Have cooking up.

I have one core that runs cooler than the rest lol. This normal?

Can't see the point personally, unless you're just interested in benchmarking. There's no point stress testing unless you're running a realistic bios setup that you'll be using 24/7.
The main advantage of these newer CPUs is the power saving; let's face it they're not much faster than the previous generation (or two). Running with manual full load vcore all the time for the vast majority of users/tasks makes no sense.
