***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

There have been at least two patches, maybe even three since launch? All are delivered via the RSC Launcher and you'll usually get the windows UAC prompt to allow installation?

Had no update yesterday. Cant check if I am on version 350.1/2.
Editor no where to be seen.

Ok

Do you have a desk top icon for your GTA V?

if not,

Steam

Library

GTA V

Right click

Forth from the Bottom of the drop down is "Create desktop icon"

Launch it from there.... so much easier...

Launch the game to see what version you are on...

After the Rockstar logo's has come up, the next screen full of white writing, at the bottom is your build version and launcher version. should say build 350 online 1.26

Saying that as soon as you launch the game Steam will auto update or if not enabled, The launcher will tell you you need to update...

I did that but again there is no option for launch as admin.
Just saw the build starting game it said "350."
Which shows no update! ffs

If you have set the GTA5.exe to admin in the steam folder then it is running in admin.

If you don't get the User access box up asking if you "want to run the program", it's because your user access settings are set to not ask.

Your build is up to date... mine says 350. :)

Is there something wrong with the rockstar servers tonight, or is their downloader comically bad? I finally bought the retail version because my internet is pretty poor, but I literally cannot download the last 5GB because of their shockingly bad downloader/servers. It will sit at about 80KB/s (usually get up to 750KB/s in steam) and after about 5 minutes it will lose connection to their servers despite my internet being perfectly fine. It will then restart the download at about 2MB and continue the cycle seemingly indefinitely.

anyone have any suggestions?

*edit*
Someone uploaded the 5GB patch to megaupload, but it looks like that has been taken down :( if someone can find another source that is confirmed to be working that would be great because i literally cant get past 25MB without it resetting back to 2MB

I collected the 50 spaceship parts and got the Space Docker, I had great fun with that car for the 3 minutes I had it, until the game crashed from memory leak. Now the Space Docker is gone! Is there any way to get it back?

If you go into the garage that you bought, stand away from any cars so the menu appears for special cars, go into that and it should be there ;-)

I'm glad I decided to wait before buying this, all I see are tech issues with the game in this thread. I also heard that cheating is rampant in the online mode, and people using mods to increase FOV, of all things, are getting banned.

I'll give it another month, or three.

Played about 2 hours of the multiplayer last night.

Am I the only one not enjoying it? It feels so random. Jumping from one scenario to another.

I think I would have more fun, replaying the single player again but chooseing the second way to complete the missions.

If you get the steam version you still have to use rockstar social club as well, so it doesn't avoid that. The only real advantage of the steam version is its better for downloads and updates, and I guess steam achievements if that's important to you.

Cheers mate.

For everyone playing already - what kind of performance can I expect out of the specs in my sig? Decent settings?

At 1080p you should be able to run pretty much very high/ high settings across the board and stay locked at 60hz (if you use vsync).

HOWEVER... just noticed the 920, there are a couple settings that are very cpu heavy. Either way, you'll be happy :)

Does anyone get a blank page when they go to their member/crew page on the Rockstar Social Club website? Mines been doing that for a few days and I can't figure it out.

Awesome thanks :)

I've got a 920 as well, and is clocked to 3.8GHz and can handle everything my 780ti can. CPU usage peaks at about 60% so no biggie. Was impressed to see all 8 cores being used though!

Also was worried for RAM, peak usage was 93% for 6GB so looks to be enough for GTA V.

Obviously up to you, but there is very little wrong with the game, I think this thread probably magnifies some that exist, but on the while its fantastic.

As far as SP goes anyway, can't really comment on MP as hardly tried it.

"All I see are tech issues"

Should have gone to specsavers.

This game is playable, well optimised and works flawlessly for many people.

Have now played a decent proportion of the singleplayer and somehow feel it's almost over even though I feel as though I've barely played the game!

The story seems fairly disjointed and less progressive than the other GTAs.

Cba with SP and have yet to even meet Trevor in it. I guess it is because I found it stale on the consoles too on release - I just can't work up the motivation to play it.

I am loving MP though - just avoid public lobby's and join friends for good fun. The online networking system isn't the best and there can be frustrating moments joining games but overall MP is good fun.

I've got the Rockstar version of the game and so far it's been rock solid in terms of post patch performance. Haven't had a single issue at all.
