****The Official The Avengers: Age of Ultron Thread ****

Really Enjoyed it - Wasnt ruined by 3D either... I actually thought it added to it.

9/10 from me - little bit boring in the middle but not a problem

I liked the film but the joins between the slow character bits and the action bits seemed to be a bit rough and disjointed. The story between Natasha and Bruce seemed also to be a bit pointless except to set up the one joke at the end.

Things like Thor in the pool and Scarlet Witch going after Banner's mind just seemed to be missing big chunks. Hopefully all that stuff is in the missing 25 minutes cut for the cinema that we'll see in the director's cut.

Yeah the Thor in the pool part seemed to make no sense to me at all. Did I miss something?

Directors cut....

They shaved over it so fast im sure another 1 minute of screen time could have explained it... Im sure comic geeks know what it is? Help us ! :P

Best movie ever.
whedon got it all right.

Really, it was ok, certainly not as good as the first one, certainly not the best in the MCU films so far. Maybe the Directors Cut will be better but to me it felt rushed and disjointed...

Another solid marvel film - 8/10. Saw this in 3d and thought this was a really good example of how it should be done.

The joke was worth the wait though, and went well over the heads if most of the kids in the cinema :)

Seriously, you think it;s the best movie ever?!

Just got back from seeing it and thought it was really, really average. The first one was easily more enjoyable.
The CGI at the beginning was really poor for some reason, Ulton was REALLY boring and non threatening, far too many jokes shoehorned in with only a few working well.

However, the action scenes were pretty decent.

One other thing that really got on my nerves was Quicksilver fighting the robots. Yes he's fast but he seems to punch the robots and beat them, he hasn't got superhuman strength!

yeah the whole Ultron thing was wasted imho, where did he pick up bits of Tony's personality from, the whole thing just felt wrong to me and rushed just so we ended up with Vision...

Went for the Imax 3D showing and loved it from start to finish. I knew it would be a good movie, just didn't expect it to be so good! 9/10 and will defo see it again but in 2d.

Whedon just nails it every time.

Saw this at the weekend, walked away looking forward to seeing it again. Really enjoyed it.

Maybe my expectations are lower than others, no idea.

What's the deal with Vision anyway? He has the mind gem in his head - does he need it to live? Obviously for the third Avengers movie, Thanos is going to have all six gems in his gauntlet (or at least you would assume).

Same. Saw it in 2d and genuinely considering making the effort to see it in IMAX 3d before its too late. That thought hasn't crossed my mind in a long, long time.

Speaking as someone who did not care much for the first Avengers and found it boring and badly paced, while the comic book geeks raced to the internet to genuflect about how it was the best piece of cinema ever, I absolutely loved AoU. Well written, well paced, good character development, beautifully made.

Imo, its just 'cool' to be 'meh' about this film, just as its 'cool' to hate Batfleck without seeing the final product. Its a shame because the community should be rewarding excellent film making, but they all too often tend towards the counter-culture, which will weaken future products and give us more superman.

Movie could have honestly done with more screen time is all.

I must be well weird! I have said from the start that Affleck is gonna be amazing at Batman, I also liked the most recent Superman movie and I thought Age of Ultron was a very good "middle" movie continuing the story while containing its own story to setup the next round of Marvel movies.

Antman is shaping up to be a solid new entry but I don't expect to be quite as good as Guardians of the Galaxy. We have Doctor Strange currently in pre-production with Cumbersnatch perfectly cast in that role. Capt. America 3 is due to start pre-prod later this year I believe and Guardians2 pre-prod next year.
