****Official Project CARS thread****

I have this on ps4 (pad) and pc (wheel). Whilst I can quite happily drive on pro with no aids whatsoever with the wheel on pc, I currently have to have auto gears, ABS, stability control and traction control on PS4 with a pad yet still having difficulty as I get used to it. Though some cars are easier than others, I'm having a reasonable amount of difficulty even in the clio!

Haven't played around with the 3 presets yet...

Same, I'm not using stability control, not tried that.

I often find its very hard steering around tight bends, the car just doesn't want to turn, maybe I'm going to fast into corners.

Anyone fancy streaming an online race? Any lag etc? Still on the fence about this but I might cave tomorrow and buy it :)

There are loads of setting's in the option menu for car handling, graphics, mechanical failure, fov, world movement in head cam, head cam shake etc... It's best to just play with them all until you find something comfortable..

Playing the game for years on PC, I just found it simple and set up my profile in minutes as I had to reset my profile pretty much every time I played on PC so sorta got used to where all the options where... If I get time. I'll try and knock up a guide to it all..

Beachboyken , steering assist will help if you cant control the steering as it simplifiers the steering, but I urge you to turn it off and learn to be good with a pad as eventually you'll get the hang of it. As with steering assist you'll never really learn to drive correctly as the game will be holding your hand too much..

Don't forget chaps, well psn users in any case. Lykan motorsports car dlc and more liveries dlc now up on psn store to download...

Thanks, I've left it off but I'm using the abs, traction and stability only aids.

As for pad mode I'm using 2, saw a video that suggests either 2 or 3 and it can all depend on car as well.

It does depend on car, mode 2 is good all round settings... It'll take you some fiddling and practice to get good I suspect..

Traction control helps. I know aids shouldn't be used. But with a gamepad I think traction control is pretty much the one aid I think you should use.. There are god like gamers who use no assists with gamepad, but just use what is comfortable..

Yeah cheers, will need to play more as not had long with it, be good if you could change control settings while in Gameplay, have to keep going back to main menu?

Anyway from what I've played it's awesome, the engine sounds are the best I've heard in a racing game! And the Ai also seems to be very good as well.

These are the settings i'm using on XB1 on a pad, they work well for me with no assists in cockpit/helmet or bumpercam with GT3 & M1 Procar.

mode 3
steering 0 10
throttle 0 40
brake 0 40
clutch 10 45
speed sens 80
controller filtering 0
force feedback 60
advanced off

I've set my controller up the same as Forza so it's:-

RT - throttle
LT - brake
RB - handbrake
LB - Camera view
Y - Look behind
X - Down gear
B - Up gear
A - Clutch

I'm using manual without clutch but have the button mapped so i can slip it if needed. I tried playing with manual clutch like Forza but it's too slow. It could probably be sorted in the settings though, it needs to be on/off rather than analogue to work like Forza.

Is there a manual anywhere for the settings, i've never played a console game with so many! :)

I'll be streaming on twitch again today while i try to figure the game out some more. This is an awesome game!

Yes, and I expect over the coming months many more updates like these... DTM Mercedes for example, the liveries are all missing. So I expect those to come soon.

I also expect as SMS said they would. You'll get a free dlc car each month for 6 months.

I don't care about that red car lol. Where are the skins?

Just checked the store. Couldn't see anything
