so commuters.. how often do you rage? I often find bits like -;

in my videos.. I AM a massive road ragger tho.. and struggle not to express my opinion of someones driving :)

I'm perfectly calm at all times *

* Aside from every single time some idiot motorist, cyclist or pedestrian does something idiotic. Then I shout at them a lot. This only happens once or twice **

** per mile of riding.

Hit something in the road on my way home from work. Tyre went flat straight away, stopped and went to change the tube. Found a dent in the rim of the wheel and a hole in the tyre.

Awesome.

Took my N2A into the LBS to give it a good new bike on the road service. Found my rear derailieur hanger had a crack (I was knocked off last week by a pedestrian just stepping into the road and couldn't get unclipped quick enough). Could have been painful and expensive had it completely failed when riding.

See I'm not, I'm more the disapproving guy who shakes his head at stupid things. Occasionally an idiotic driver will get me waving an arm to indicate they should've given me more room etc. I'll even calmly stop and tell a motorist at the lights where they've been an idiot, not confrontational but just asking if it was a problem seeing me (with multiple lights and covered in high-viz).

I did many years previously of driving high mileage on the road and seen my fair share of horrific things (first on the scene loads of times so seen some real carnage). It's made me into a very objective kinda person rather than stressing me out/annoying me! :)

Ouch! Rim may straighten but it's a shame to lose a tyre like that! Any idea what it was?! :(

Like you say, good to know about it before it goes completely but still annoying it was damaged by someone else! :/

A new bike shop has opened up nearby. Stockists of Colnago. Hmmmm.

As much as I'd give to get a C60, I don't think for the same price as the Canyon I'm going for I can get the same level of components.

you settle on the canyon? I'm going for a Rose CGF I think now. Can't be arsed waiting till August for a canyon model I want in my size.

I've "settled" for the CF SL 9 Di2, with a pair of Dura Ace C35s which I've bought. Total price is €3,900, and I just can't get that spec at the same price from Colnago. I'm still torn between Di2 or Discs, and as I need to purchase this year rather than next it has to come down to one or the two, and I think Di2 edges it for me. Sitting back and thinking about it, Di2 is the better choice as its a mature technology; discs still have a way to go on road bikes.

I know what I'd rather get, but a Di2 C60 is not going to happen ;).

However I compromised with the boss and am not ordering until July, when I get my bonus. There's no wait time on my size and colour though so shouldn't be too bad. So I'm going to go and look and drool anyway.

Been talking to Paolo, wheelset spec so far is looking like hope mono rs hubs, h and son archetype and sapim spokes (all black wheelset). Come in at £400 for the set.

Quick ride this afternoon for me, just 17 miles on the single speed. It's a great bike to ride. The easy gearing is pushing my cadence up, and it's good to climb gentle inclines on because you can push harder in that gear.

I had some idiot with tiny genitals shout at me from a car as he overtook me. I caught up to him at a set of lights after he'd utterly failed to make any progress. He shouted some more abuse at me and then ragged it from the lights. What a life to lead, shouting at cyclists from your car... Pathetic.

That's £100 more than my Miche Primato/Archetype set cost me, so those had better be good hubs!

That's the other set off hubs I was looking at, monos do bump it up. From what I can gather the miche primato are the best bang for buck hub, how are you finding yours?

They've been used for about 2000 miles or thereabouts and they're going strong. I probably ought to give them a service sometime soon! The rims are great, nice and wide, so with 25mm tyres on them they're very smooth rolling.

After much umming and arring i have finally ordered a bike.

Went for the Rose Xeon RS 4400
Sram Force 22 with the brakes upgraded to Red
Anodised black, Non monolink stem with the saddle and the handlebar tape white.
Oh and 25mm tyres.
1550 delivered
Excited. Now the wait begins

I wish my Edge 500 would scream at me if the timer is stopped but it can clearly detect that I am moving.

75 hilly miles though if you ignore the duff GPS data :) very pleased but shattered now.

We ended up going the reverse of Frencie's favourite route. Goyt, Pyms, Brickworks. Missed most of the rain which was good.

Weather is a lot nicer than it was meant to be so I popped out for a quick ride. My legs have been feeling crappy all week and it wasn't until I was halfway home again until they felt like they'd warmed up. Still, nice and sunny and a few PRs.
